I had a new idea that I'm sure It will succed, and its very easy to run. It's about mixing some of the methods that we can find at BTW.

The thing is to offer free websites and charge 10€ / month for the hosting via your reseller account.

Who are we going to offer the free websites plus monthly hosting?

Well, I don't know if its the same in your country, but in my country (Spain) every village and every district has a football team where the kids play in a league versus other villages or districts.

So for example where I live there are about 60-80 football teams, only a few with website, so I'll contact them and make them a offer, I'm sure that they will accept because the parents are more excited than even the children so they will accept to pay 10€ / month that means nothing for a website and they can upload videos, post blog comments .etc .etc.

Well, with 80 clients you will have an income of 800€ / month, so you will have to go to other cities and start getting more and more football teams.

In my country there are more than 3000 football teams, so I think that get 500 clients its very doable.

I think its a very easy to catch niche.

Any Suggestions?

only suggestion would be to get out there and do it!

You never really know what's going to work until you at least test it out, and some of the most lucrative markets are the ones that aren't being talked about all the time.

have also seen an older method posted where you offer the client free website setup, on the condition that they buy hosting through your hostgator affiliate link - get enough regular clients and it's something like $75 a pop from hostgator. Not the same sustainable income like your method, however it's just another twist

in my country football players didn't see the paycheck since last year.. but it can be offered to any business i guess

The website IS free, they pay 10 euro for the hosting.

What are you going to use to create the websites with? a cms or automate everything?

Conversion rate is very low with cold calling, about 1 sale for every 30 - 40 decision makers I've spoken with. Although if you're calling small businesses then the number of DM's you speak with is dramatically increased. I'm targeting SME's and make around 100-150 calls a day speaking to on average around 20-30 DM's.

The website design its FREE but the content is provided by the client, set up a wordpress site or use moonfruit! or templates you earn 10€ every month for hosting, a reseller cost about 25€ per month and you can host unlimited sites.

I won't do cold calling, I will go to see a match and give flyers to the parents, every team has 17 kids per team and there are about 6 categories depending on the age. So, its a small amount for the parents.

I'll give it a try and starting next week, let's see what happens.

one other thing to add - if youre selling this at this price (it is fairly low on the grand sceme of things, but it is proced to sell for this type of market (clubs are pretty cheap and your price is kind of a no brainer) - do up a template so that its little time to plug everything in. make it easy for them to update (ie put in a google calendar or something like that) the simpler and fewer choices to make the less time youll have to spend with each clientm, and the better they understand the intangible of what their site will look like.

I don't agree with you. Use something like wpmu and you need only minutes to setup a site with hundreds of templates ready for users to chose from. Or even automate this and integrate with paypal ipn

Mate, you can do 3 websites per day, that is 90 per month, after 6 months you can have done about 500 websites, all websites hosted in your reseller hosting.

I don't know how it works in your country, but in mine If you charge 100€ / month you won't sell anything.

Nobody is going to pay $100 p/m for a site. What planet are you on?

80 clients is a LOT for some a small income.

You could find a photographer and have him pay you for referrals or advertising, or just get his prices and mark them up a bit. Another service to offer them is a dvd of the game.

Take the cash monthly and offer them a blogspot "site" xD lol, just kidding. But all you got to do, is to get some nice costume, some papers in your hand, a blue tooth in your ear to appear that you are a business man and go!

I recommend you guys to read a post called "making money giving way free websites" MY STORY. On the make money forum (I can't post links).

He charges 25$ / monthly for hosting, and it's charging for seo and other things. I think 25$ / month is a little big high, but 10€ / month like Im going to charge I think its a very very low price and you'll have to get a lot of clients.

So I think that 16,5€ / month is a good price, so if I want 5000€ / month I'll need around 300 clients, wich is very doable.

Only offer setup not maintenance, or you won't be able to take your 80 clients

Just considered doing this myself. I think you can get a LOT of clients posting on Facebook Buy/Sell Pages.

I.E Buy/Sell New York - Hey guys. For the next month i'm offering to build you guys Free Websites. No Catches whatsoever. The only costs incurred will be your chosen Domain name and a cheap monthly hosting fee. (Something like that anyway). Obviously add contact details and so on!

If you get 100 clients a year at $14.99 a month that's $18k for the first year. Then expand, and get another 100 clients the 2nd year. It can't be that hard, can it? I'm sure if you post in these Buy/Sell places all over your country you'll get some immediate interest. Everyone wants a site, right?

One good thing that youll get out of this is youll be good at talking to people and later on picking up girls! Go for it!

Think i'll join you on this one pal. Can post progress reports as and when we see fit. After 5 years you could have 500 clients and making some £90k a year on Autopilot.

That is what I want to achieve. Increase my number of clients every month and make an autopilot income with this, at the same time my company will have a reputation because of my good service and other bigger clients will want me to design their websites or manage their seo.

This is exactly what I did a couple of years ago. It's very effective. I made huge bank out of it. It took me from lazy student to London fashion week!

I've considered a similar idea lately few things to note;

1. If you don't have experience with cPanel/WHM and the usual ins and outs of running a web host your going to spend triple the time getting that backend stuff running efficiently.

2. If you want to manage that many clients and only charge a small amount ($10 - $20 per month) you will need to have comprehensive video tutorials done up for them to learn how to manage their own website.
The best part of this method is that you're offering something to people in your local community with little web experience who will believe your offer is a great - the worst part about it is that they will ask you stupid questions, expect a lot from you and start to complain when things you can't control start happening.

3. Use pre-made free Wordpress designs and just have them filled with content by an outsourced employee. You should streamline the process of getting content from clients so that you only really have to spend $3-5 MAX per client to get their website up.

4. You need to be willing to make a loss from clients who cancel after a month and factor that into your numbers.

5. Avoid cold calling (this just might be for my country) but a lot of small business are over the whole cold call from an internet company. Our friends here on BHW flogged that dead horse with the Adwords "Would you like your business on the first page of google?" scam with indian telemarkers who signed them up to PPC programs with IM's earning a 200% premium on clicks.

I ran the numbers on this idea and figured that the time you would have to put into running the client side of things would really be a pain. Sure you'll probably make more money than 85% of the people on BHW, but you will be answering stupid questions 24/7 and getting asked to help manage websites, from clients who have no idea about even the most basic facets of the internet.


Thats not to say this isn't the perfect idea for you, if you believe it can work - it probably will. Just don't expect it to be as simple as it sounds.

The content will be provided by the client. For example: my client wants a contact us page, a about us page, and our services page. They provide me the content and I set up a wordpress website for them and insert the pages, tweak a little bit the website and that's all, 30 - 50 min. max. of work.

Finally I will be looking for every business/person that wants a free website, not only football teams. So I think that with a local newspaper ad I will be able to get at least 100 clients in one month, at 14.99€ = 1499€. I can live perfect in my country with 1499€. After that I will keep reinvesting money on advertising and getting more and more clients.

I know that I will have to ask stupid questions .etc. but i think that its better that I do the modifications. Ex: Prices, a sentence .etc. because I will be faster than my clients and they wont be anoying me all time. So they'll just send me an email with the modifications and I will do it.

My objective is to get a number of clients to have a good monthly income. I think that with 200 clients I'll be ok, my 200 clients websites will have a footer link with some keywords like "seo + city" ; "video editing + city" ; "social media + city" ; "facebook pages + city" .etc. and I will be able to rank in the search engines for keywords that will bring me other jobs.

This is a hugely time consuming method as has been said. But 1-2 years down the line you can literally leave it & get cash on autopilot doing nothing. Need a lot of patience but it'l pay off down the line!

The guy mentioned that he was offering free websites for £10 a month hosting (max 3 page site,choice of just 3 templates,etc) and he stated that he had 500 monthly clients...hmmm...not sure if I believe that.

I have 12 customers on my reseller account and although they are only friends/business associates for which I am doing them a favour, they are a pain in the ass to manage.

Good luck if you can but this idea is about taking action and continuing to take action. Don't forget, once the client becomes wiser to the workings of the net, they will realise they can get the same hosting for £2.50 a month.

Yes, maybe they can get the same hosting for more less, but if they dont have the skills to do modifications on the website I will do it for them. Do the "2.50€ hostings" do the same for them? I don't think so ...

I'm offering a more close relationship with my clients and it worths the 14.99€.

Offer a free or trial value added service every once in awhile to retain customers, and offer bundled services for those pains in the arse that want the cow for free all the time. As long as you outline what they will get and give them just that and use effective sales approaches for additional services, this can work.

I don't understand why you want to do so many work/management for not much money. It's not hard to get a client to pay you $200 to do SEO/Website or whatever.

It's wayyy easier to manage and build a relationship with one client that pays you $200/month than 13 clients that pay you $15/month.
