I'm getting a little mixed up regarding this offline SEO blueprint. I have a bunch of exact match citytrade.com domains that are starting to rank. At first I thought the business model was to rank the exact match domain and rent the advertising space.

But after reading around seems like people are offering to rank the clients website. I have ranked many exact match domains but haven't really tried anything else. How would you go about ranking a clients site for chosen keywords in this example:

Client is a dentist and has a domain name that does not contain any keywords. - BobsTeethService.com and wants to rank for keyword "city dentist".

Do you just start building links with "city dentist" anchors pointing to the homepage?

Or do you need to create an article section on his site and upload keyword rich articles targeting "city dentist" and backlink the articles?

A lot of times people rank a squidoo lense for some keyword. It's not all about the domain, but it would help exact match (not meaning it's impossible without it).

love copy and paste.

You rank their homepage. If all you have ranked is exact match domains, I suggest you practice ranking websites with low onsite optimization before you start charging clients :) if the competition is really hard consider building a subpage on their website that is a landing page.

Thanks. I'll keep on ranking my exact match citytrade.com domains and see if I can rank another page on the first page also. Then maybe offer a multiple slot on the first page type deal to clients :)

You can lease the site out with their details while you rank their site, so they are getting instant traffic....other way to do it is setup a ppc campaign for the short term..
