I am currently a film major with a small LLC for webdesign and SEO on the side. For a term project, I am creating promo video slideshows for restaurants in the local area with high res pictures free of charge. I just went into 15 businesses and 12 signed up to have a video made.

So now that I have some positive reputation with all of these businesses, is there an effective way I could monetize and maybe soft sell a website or SEO services?

Of course, offer them addditional services. And similar too Takticals idea, offer them some sort of referal scheme. Any business they pass on to you, heeck give them 30% of the returns! All about expanding :)

Sounds great!!

A few questions if you don't mind... :D

What prices were you charging for the videos ?
Can you show some examples of the videos you created ?
Were you only creating the videos or did you include video marketing/upload to YouTube etc ?
What was your main selling point/angle/USP when speaking to business owners ?

Cheers

The first service that screams out at me would be to offer to get their new video distributed online. Build that up with general SEO services around the video (i.e create an article and put the video within it and submit to article directories. As its totally relevant to the free video you have just made them, should stand a greater chance at them picking up on a paid service.

Good luck and keep me updated
