According to statistical data, the MySpace population is predominately female (63%), with roughly half (52%) of the the total number of users being between the ages of 18-25. 26-35 year olds as well as those under the age of 18 are also a major demographic (21% and 17% respectively).
Social networking sites are difficult to market primarily due to the fact that users are not looking to buy merchandise or services, they are using the venue as an outlet for communication.
I personally wouldn't waste my money on this account because it would require massive demographic research as well as hit and miss marketing in order to find a worthy niche.
