Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
I've spend several weeks looking into mobile web creation... wanting to sell mobile sites to my clients. Nothing seemed to make me feel comfortable... I don't like the monthly fees of online mobile site builders, to say nothing of the fact that they host them so its completely out of my control.
I've tried some of the WSO mobile creators and while a couple of them are pretty decent, they have very little flexibility if a client asks for something other than what the software is specifically designed for.
I've finally settled on my solution... its one that I haven't seen anyone really talk about, so I thought I'd mention it here. I am using site spinner pro to create my sites. It took me a good while to create a few different templates with it (since I was just learning it over the weekend), but it is a great solution for me.
I (or an outsourcer) can create the sites for new clients very quickly (save as), they are hosted on my own hosting (no monthly fees and no worries) and I can be as flexible as the client wants with design without having a whole lot of knowledge!
I was playing with the trial for a week or so, and when I went to buy it, it was reduced to $59 for the weekend (or so they say, it could have been like that for a month for all I know)...
Anyway, might be something for you to look into if you're looking for a relatively easy solution to creating pretty nice mobile sites!

Re: Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
I personally don't build mobile sites but a friend of mine has one. I am not sure if he used any special software but his site is mobile.domain.com and if you go there on your computer, it is tiny and up in the top left of the page.
When I first saw it I thought he just built a reformatted copy of his existing site. Then made a sub-domain that fit, hence the "mobile" part of the url.
If you go there with your telephone it is perfect.

Re: Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
The more I get into it, the better I like it. You can use a "click to call button" and develop an unlimited number of designs... still trying to figure out if you can use the Google maps api with it...

Re: Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
I think that you can not read all the book about mobile website that yoy can find here. There are many template that you can custumize for your job. If yopu master html, it will be easy to create a mobile website that to create a real website.
For those you know PHP, there is another template here that is completed with Google Map.
Hope this help

Re: Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
I'm also wondering about the Howie Schwartz offering called simplecashsites. Anyone tried it? Of course it sounds great in the sales vids, has a bunch of templates, qr code generator, etc, but it's basically $200 bucks. Not really into spending a couple bones to see if i like the way something works.

Re: Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
One more thing: i think ideally the mobile site should be hosted on the same server as the main website. You (or someone) will have to install a redirect on the main website anyway to get the mobile site working, so why host the mobile site elsewhere? unless it's on your own host.

Re: Mobile Website Creation - My Solution...
Checked it out but it looks basically like creating sites from scratch so I dont see the appeal. There are just way too many nice templates out there to create sites from the ground up with site spinner.
THANKS FOR SHARING

I don't think GSM is as efficient here as CDMA is. Yes I can still go to any focus on shop buy a GSM cell cellphone from at&t and stimulate it. That is another choice.
