I was wondering if anyone knew how to start a webcam site like livejasmin or the like. I think that there must be some kind of turnkey method where you put your logo on a site and promote it kind of like an affiliate. I'd also like to know what it would take to have my own operation. Anyone with knowledge of what the back end requirements would be please share some knowledge. I'm new to the site so can't PM yet.

I would highly recommend against trying to start your own cam site. It's a major undertaking ($$$ and effort) because not only do you have to get tons of traffic and models to get the ball rolling, you have to do them both at precisely the same time: the surfers have to see lots of girls to stick around and sign up, and if the girls don't get tons of surfers then they'll go to another site. If you screw up the timing at all then you'll fall flat on your face.

If you have your own models then it's pretty simple to just set up your own little studio with PCs and webcams, then you download the particular client app for each cam program you want your girls to appear on. You can have them on multiple networks at the same time using software like splitcam, manycam etc.

Alternately if you just want to have a cam site on your own domain but with an existing cam site's models and backends, most of the affiliate programs have an option for a whitelabel or co-brand where you can do that.

You should check out awempire. They have options where you can create a whitelabel or co-brand site. Basically just slap your own logo on a live jasmin site. Been with them for a while now myself and never had any issues with them.

awempire.com, streamate.com (moneytree.com) are probably the biggest. pussycash.com, datinggold.com, pimproll.com, videosecrets.com are also solid. Streamate has a good white label solution that you see all over the place.

Your best bet is to have a look at the big porn tubes to see what those guys are promoting.

yeah I'm thinking that the good thing about white label is that if you find ways to promote it, your leads won't be able to go around you and sign up directly. I.E. they won't type in the URL of the company you're promoting, hence robbing you of the affiliate commish

The secret isnt in starting the cam site, that's relatively easy. Getting girls is a bit harder, but the HARDEST part is getting customers (especially customers who pay) and retaining them. Look at how much cam sites pay affiliates for customers. Unless you have a huge bank roll to start it off with (think 500k - 1 million) for marketing, it is better not to throw good money after bad.

I've tried to contact streamate for a several days now. Customer services don't know who I need to speak to about starting live cam site and there's no information on their website. No one has replied to my emails. Does anyone know if they still do that or how to contact them?

I was going to do this a few years back. I don't want to sound like a pain in the A$$, make sure you do your legal homework as well. The legality of adult websites is very important. Even if your not hiring the models directly you need to be aware of 2257. Here is a url for more info on 2257 record keeping requirements
