I have a membership site and when someone pays me, after completing the checkout with paypal they are supposed to click on a button to continue to the "member's area" of my site where they will find their password. However, many people are too dumb to do this and end up emailing me asking for a username and password just about every day.

The buyer does not fill anything out on my site at all, the only way I know someone has joined is when I receive an email from paypal saying that someone has paid me. I tried having a canned response sent through gmail containing the username and password, but the email goes to paypal not the customer and I cannot figure out a way to have every member who joins sent an email containing a username and password automatically. I need to figure out a way to do this with GMAIL... any suggestions?

If you set up an ejunkie account and had the membership paid through them, you could change the thank you message to something like "Thank you and now all you need to do is to to go to the member area so copy and paste this link."

I use ejunkie for a couple of things and it's 5.00 a month.

E-junkie doesn't support recurring PayPal payments though.

That said, take a look into getresponse knowledge centre and blog (can't remember where exactly was it). There's a tutorial on how to configure PayPal so that all people who pay you get added to your list automatically. If you do this then you can shoot them all an automated message upon signup.

Another (better) way would be hiring a coder to come up with a quick PHP script that sends this email to your customer upon payment completion (using PayPal's IPN functionality to get the username, email address and other details). It's literally a half an hour job for a decent coder so shouldn't cost you more than 20 bucks.
