I just finished installing my own membership website and i need people to post free stuffs and downloads for me on it so that content will be much and i will be able to rank on the search engine. @ Extra winner.. That is the point People who will assist me in doing building it will be permited to be my moderators on each section of the forum. And look about the annoying ads, i dont see them cos i work with opera and IE 8. They are not showing up on it. Perhaps it does on mozila. Try using opera or IE 8.

ok, i see what you mean though, its a blackhat community so asking here isn't a bad idea, because some people can share methods there too and after a while, that forum won't have the same members as here. and newer and better ideas will be on one and not both;.. so its a good idea to help you out, but currently i only have a few methods that hold true to me. i will however sign up and post some older methods i use.. its always good to have another bh forum.. not too many though lol bhw is the best of all..

Good idea not to start with more than a few sub forums because you will find building the forum a lot more difficult than you think. Some community forums are built over years even, before being expanded upon!
Secondly a good skin would do wonders for the look of the forum as well as a custom logo for the site!
SMF is not a very good choice for forum software. I know it is free like PHPBB and has many similiar and useful features as paid forum software does, but you will soon notice the restrictions of using it such as banner ad placements and limited software support. Mods tend to be a problem once you try and get them up and running as well.
As a newbie starting out as a forum webmaster owner however using free software is a good start. Watch out for the dreaded spam bots soon to hit your site in the droves though!
As an example i have included a SMF site i just got started myself, as well as running and owning the latest vbulletin suite software amongst other things, included in my profile information.
