Dear Experienced Users, I am From Bangladesh and I run a well establish training blog. Now I want to run a membership site in Wordpress. The main problem is here in Bangladesh, we don't have Paypal service. So, my question is that is it possible to collect payments from my members through direct payment with swift code support? I will use membership plugin in my site so if i get payment then I can upgrade their level. Without Paypal I have to do this manually. Is it possible? Is there any problem associated? Can you please give me suggestion please?

The primary problem is really the trust issue. As an end-user, I would not be willing to provide my banking details directly to a membership website. My credit card would be the full extent of what I'd be willing to give, because if anything happened I'd have to close my account and start a new one (huge PITA). Knowing what I know, membership sites are notorious for hidden add-ons and charges. You personally also have increased liability if you're taking these types of payments directly.

Check out ALL of the reputable online processors to see if they accept Bangladeshi sites, although I fear the problem is the lack of gov support for it. Depending on how much you stand to make, it may be worth it to set up shop in Nepal or Bhutan, or at least a bank account for PayPal processing.

As Griffin mentioned above... I think you should try Alertpay maybe. I personally wouldn't recommend paypal for collecting membership fees anyway, been there done that, burned myself.

Paypal is always on the buyers side and ppl know this very well. Paypal is only a real option when selling goods with a tracking number or something, or when buying stuff. Definiately a no-no when collecting payment for services, membership, etc.

So i recommend you as well to look for another payment solution which offers you as the seller at least some protection from fraudsters and the like.

In my experience with many membership sites over the years I'd say probably not many (if any) people will do that.
