Finishing dating site - How to get members

I'm finishing a dating site and need to get the first members.
I don't have money to spend so i'll work hard to do it on my own.
What methods to use?

In the dl section I noticed a fb profile image scraper. You could put that to work in seeding your db.

I think you can try with bookmarking ? I think it could bring you some targeted visitors

Do a free membership promotion offering free full access membership until say beginning of November or December so 3 or 4 months from now, that should be enough time for you to build your dating site up nicely

Also for people to get free access they have to use there credit card for the free membership but on the understanding they will not be billed until the end of the free membership in November or December? at which time you will charge $14.99 or $19.99 a month or which ever price you choose

The key is to build your site up and offer value and a busy dating site to your customers before you start to charge them or they will just cancel any membership and your site will die a slow death!

also just a note November and December is a time of year when people start to look to meet someone special on the run up to Christmas

The site is free to join.
Three membership choices (Free, Paygo, Vip).
Free - Users can contact others if they have credits, if not they can fill in some offers(surveys, etc) and get a free credit or they can upgrade to the other 2 memberships. They see ads. When they sign up they get 3 credits to start.
Paygo - Pay as you go. Pay $x and get x credits. No ads. Featured Search results.

I once read about someone who had a dating site, free membership and he was making crazy money with Adsense only. something like
$50,000 per month.
Non Adult of course, he was one man band as well, no staff.

You can try using regular traffic source like social bookmark, blog comments, traffic exchange, forum comments, etc.

I know this reply comes a little late, but better late than never right

I am killing it offline marketing my dating sites. I am not sure of your niche but if your niche is PG you will do great with signs around town and ads in your local city weekly.

I do have a successful dating site and I have to say to get members I have used press releases, social media, linkbuilding services and scrapebox with spinable comments. Its not just one thing its a combination. Also, having fake profiles is fine but honestly people are smarting up to that so my best advice is either don't charge at all and just put adsense and if it is a PG site just find a good service to host it for you cause the trouble you will go through in maintaining the site is not worth your time. People spam, chargeback all types of things so adsense or have it hosted with a bigger company that specializes in this area.

Make people want to join, alot of fake profiles with post, make the site look active, try and drive traffic slowly and hope it spread by word of mouth, you can try e-mail spam, or post on social websites.
