I want to make my own videos for a product that I am making. When someone becomes a member and has access to my videos how do I keep my videos secure so they can't download them or share them on youtube or anywhere else ?
Thanks

Good luck with that.
You can use Adobe's Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) to steam the videos from a flash server, and it should stop most people from using programs like 0rbit D0wn1oader to grab your stuff. Having said that, remember this: where there's a will, there's a way.![]()

Agreed, but you have to remember that there will always be away around it. Look at Hulu (If in the US), your average downloader (Plugin or otherwise) won't work with them, but there is a certain program that allows you to still download the movie, just most don't know about it. So, using Adobe's RTMP, you'd be fairly safe.
I totally agree, I'd say don't worry about that and focus on making your
site a success...
There are all kinds of products available for download here at the forum, and that doesn't mean the owners of those products are not making money.
In fact, sometimes piracy helps promote your products if they are good![]()
1) Encode the movies as FLVs and display them in a flash player, not as downloadable MPEGs, AVIs, etc. That makes it marginally more difficult to download them, but a good flash ripper will still get them.
2) Protect the video page with a username and password using .htaccess. Don't just use an open "thank you" page like you see some Clickbank vendors doing.
3) Divide your vids up into parts and make sure your videos are all watermarked with your URL. If some of them get out in the wild, then it might drive some sales when people see a vid (or part of a vid), like it, and visit the watermarked URL. This is a time honoured technique used by advertisers on porn tube sites.![]()

I have videos on my membership site and what you need to do is simply police the major video sites. If you find your content on youtube or some other place then just send DMCA letter, simple. Other than that you shouldn't really have to worry.
The way I look at it is this: most people don't pirate content and if they do then chances are they weren't going to buy it in the first place.
