Hello BHW,

I thought I would start a Journal of my membership site.

I have read these things before and have seen great things come from Journals on BHW. I am doing this for multiple reasons.
1. To motivate myself
2. To motivate others
3. For people trying to start a membership site, and need help.

I will try to keep this as updated as I possibly can. I really try hard to limit myself on how much time I spend on BHW. I tend to not get anything done when I am reading on this site. Do not get me wrong, I love this site, but sometimes it just sucks me in.

Here is what I have so far...
- WP Installed on my hosting account
- I chose to build the membership site, or atleast the front part of it with WP. It is simple to use, has great templates and plugins and is FREE.

- I have amember installed on my hosting. I am still learning the getting around part amember, but I have found it very user friendly. I did have some issues installing it, but that was all my fault.

- I am working on integrating aweber or some other form of list building into my site. I am just not sure, about it quite yet. But I am a firm believer in the money is in the list.

My membership site is centered around making money online. I enjoy this niche and really think that I can help people to make money online.

Well that is about it. I plan on start sending traffic to my site tomorrow. I have some editing to do on the membership side of it and need to test run everything before I launch.

If you have any questions, please ask and I will do my best to answer, or I am sure someone on this site that has more experience will help out.

I do have a question to anyone that is using amember.

? - When I password protect a folder, it will not let me access the page. I am not exactly sure what is going on with that. If you have any suggestions that would be great.

Offering a 1 day trial for $3.00 to check out the membership site.
Now when they sign up for the membership site amember captures their info, but if they do not, I have no way of capturing their information. I am just not sure how to go about adding in aweber or some other form of lead capture.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

That is the best way to start building a list, while showing the users content. I know you will succeed with that plan of attack. Trials do work best Best of luck to you, and I will bookmark this, so keep us updated!

Ok, been a little busy this weekend, and then worked my ass off today. It is very hard to stay away from BHW.

What I got done today is...
Got viralinviter installed on my membership site.
*Note to anyone trying to use viralinviter, do not use with Godaddy hosting. The cron job will not set up correctly and it will not send out invites therefor your site will not go viral, which is the point.

I have integrated a $3.00 trial one day period in my site. So you can check it out for one day for $3.00. If you like it and do not cancel the membership you will be billed $29.99 per month.

I desided that I am going to do some split testing with this also. I will update more on that a little later.

As for the site, I have had my first five visitors, who are friends run through everything and assure that it is working correctly. Everything seems to be going fine now that I changed hosting companies.

*Trick - Godaddy Hosting + .com domain.
- If you sign up for their cheapest hosting account, I believe you get a .com domain for $1.99 or .$99. That is pretty cheap, but on the backside of that you also get Google PPC coupon along with a few more coupons. It is well worth the money. Just a thought.
