Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody can help me with a good way to protect my bucket from being downloaded by S3Ripper or similar tools... all marketers do it these days but I cant seem to figure out how!

I wanna be able to have the video play, but no softwares can access other videos in the bucket.

not exactly sure how s3ripper works, but you can set the acl on the bucket itself to private while keeping all the files inside it public. that would allow access to all the files while preventing anyone from listing the bucket contents. so then the only way someone would be able to download a file is if they knew the exact url (assuming s3ripper doesn't circumvent this in some way). otherwise i don't really see any way to allow users to access a file while preventing a bot from also accessing it.

Any more suggestions? I have heard that some softwares do that but I can't seem to find any...

If you use Firefox, this plugin may come in handy.

I do use it, but it doesnt give the needed results... the point is: The file(s) in the S3 bucket should be playable in the members' area.. but they shouldnt be accessible via S3Ripper .. S3Ripper will simply download everything in the bucket... all marketers have their buckets secured, I wish i can know how!

If you are using Wordpress you can go to the plug-in section and search for s3. There are several plug-ins that do this. I noticed that s3 vault works for Joomla and Wordpress.

If you aren't using either of those search on google for s3 "Query String Authentication" as that is what is used.

I found this thing b4 and i never thought i would have a need for it but check this out...it is exactly what ur looking for
