Hey - that's been my background for many, many years - and I'm slowly trying to move to mainstream because the money in adult isn't what it used to be.

A standalone solo site (that is, without an affiliate program that has a bunch of other, similar sites to sell) is going to need mad traffic to turn a buck - and you're not going to find many more competitive areas than a teen site.

Then, if you actually do OK with traffic and sales, you run into the bane of everyone in the adult world - people will join, download your video, and then upload it to freebie sites. Revenue to you from that: zero.

I had a number of adult niche membership sites that did, combined, well into five figures a month. Now, they do about 30% of what they used to do, just because of all the free stuff out there.

I tell you this because these days, there are a lot better ways to make money. The easy money in adult has come and gone

I will let you know that I have no experience in this niche but from what I have heard from others, the adult industry is extremely difficult to break into. Especially if you are just trying to do a site with one girl by yourself, you are almost guaranteed not to make much money.

For some reason, people think that just by making a porn site, it will automatically take off. From what I hear, most adult sites never make it anywhere and the ones that do make it usually are highly experienced, professional, have huge backing and a lot more going for them.

I would say that you should forget doing this site because it's not going to be worth your time unless you already have a plan to get traffic that you are 100% sure of and the girl you are working with is super hot or has what it takes to get guys interested and paying money month after month. The fact that you had to convince this girl to do this probably says she doesn't have what it takes.

In any case, there are many better ideas out there to make money online that do not involve anywhere near the effort it takes to set up a membership adult site. I would highly suggest considering doing a different project.

Pretty much my story too - I've been in adult since 2000 and was making good $$$, didn't make the millions I dreamed of, but I was living pretty comfortably .... now it's a totally different story, I still get some $$$ from cam and dating sites, but from all other programs that I send traffic to I get next to nothing

I'll say that it's about knowing what your target audience is and knowing where to find them - just like in any other field. I know there is money to be made.

As for commission to manage everything for her, it doesn't take much time to manage after everything is set up. #2) You don't know how to get traffic to the site

I was trying to start a business doing portrait photography a few years ago. I got a little business but not enough to make a go of it.
