I am in the process of making an adult site. I want a processor for the credit cards. I was looking into paypal but they don't allow adult sites. Of course I want something that is cheap and easy to use.

Any Suggestions ??

CCBIll is used by many adult networks and they pay weekly

This may sound stupid but why can't you just have them pay at a different website and return them to the original website after they have processed the transaction with paypal?

ePassporte Business would also be fine if you have US bank account / real credit card (no debit).

GTBill is pretty cheap too, no startup costs

My recomendation is what ive been using fo over 2 years now zombaio . com only 5% fees and very easy to work with and have affiliate programs built in

For netbilling you need your own merchant account.

Zombaio hasn't been billing for adult sites very long - but their rates are attractive.

However, I've running membership sites in the adult space for more than ten years, and have had THREE billing companies go south on me, two going down with all of my money.

This is not to say that Zombaio won't be around in 20 years - I don't know much about them - and I hope they're around forever.

But the company that's been around from the start - the biggest - and the most responsive, is CCBill. I don't like the fees, I don't like the interfaces and pages - but I like sleeping well at night knowing that my money will be here, on time, every week.

epoch, ccbill, and epassporte are the only ones on the list I'd trust.

If you've found an adult merchant account who's charging less than 14%, RUN, don't walk, away. The CC companies charge more than that in fees for adult merchant processing online, since it's a high risk/high charge back account. The only way they can be charging less than that is if they're being shady with Visa and MC, and they WILL eventually figure out.

What happens at that point is, if you are lucky, all your cash in that account goes away, and if you are UNLUCKY, you get a bill for your potential charge back amount + lawyers fees, and your potential charge back amount will be above 20%- i.e, 20% of everything you've ever processed through that merchant account.

It is NOT worth it to fuck with that stuff. I've seen people who's businesses have been destroyed by picking a crap adult merchant processor. While CCbill might be a pain in the ass, at least they pay out.

I know this, I've been doing adult online for my own sites for 5 years. Trust me. I've seen several people's lives get completely screwed up. This, and the 2257 stuff are the two things most likely to screw you doing anything with the adult internet- and the CC billing is way more likely to bring pain down upon your head than the feds busting you for kiddy porn (which, again, I saw happen for a granny site- but since they weren't 2257 compliant, they got busted for child porn. They got out of it, but only after lots and lots of legal fees, which is Very Fucked Up.)

Go with one of the proven processors and you'll be OK. Don't be tempted by low % fees, and don't even bother trying to open your own adult merchant account unless you have a few years records showing your chargeback rates, or you'll just waste a lot of time and cash hunting it down, that'd be better spent building your business.

CCBill is, of course, the gold standard for higher-end sites. But if you are looking to get off the ground, then AlertPay could be a good option, as could Authorize.net.

As always, contact these companies before setting up shop. All of our info will be at least slightly dated, either because we got in under older terms or because we're not in the biz.

Incorrect.

you are only required to pay the $750 w CCBill if you wish to process Visa cards alongside MC, Discover, AMEX, etc.

CCBill is what I use to process cc's for my adult site and i enjoy their service. their fees may be high but weekly payouts and free affiliate script is fine w me.

There's a reliable adult payment processor that blows away all the others in terms of features and lowest adult rates. It's called Ynot Payment.

You should speak with Bob about your specific needs. You can find him online at Ynot Payments or the Ynot forum, which offers great support for adult webmasters & marketers. Bob will definitely get you set up with your own merchant account quickly and as cost effectively as possible. Bob has been in the adult market for several years as a webmaster & membership site owner, so he is very familiar with your needs and requirements.

I hope this is helpful for you as many of the payment processors listed earlier in this thread may have been doing adult processing for years, but they all have issues mainly because they were not designed by a webmaster with the adult webmaster's needs in mind.

Epass wasn't really an option for membership fees anyway.
But it's another example of what several of us have said in this thread; there are only a few companies you can trust long-term (and we HOPE you can continue to trust them).
Yes, it's more expensive for adult processing options - and adult is more expensive in general - it's just one thing you have to accept if you want to work "safely" in the adult space.
