If you've expended SEO efforts in vain, or lost faith in it, fine, just don't give up, refocus and adjust with a different approach. Big secret: SEO is NOT the only way to passively attract quality targeted traffic to a site. Replace SEO with MTO (mass traffic optimization) where you draw targeted traffic from massively trafficked megasites, namely the 'big 8' or 9 sites everyone is already aware of:
Enough already! We should all get proficient at using 4-5 other major sites, with tons of traffic, to glean enough targeted visitors that it totally replaces SERP traffic. An intelligent use of FB likes and Twitter followers can generate traffic that eliminates Google, as does using Yahoo Answers, Wikipedia backlinks, YouTube videos, Craigs List, or even Amazon and eBay. Mastering these 'big 8' portals for traffic can utterly eliminate the need for a SERP system that treats its user base badly.
