How to make over $10,000 monthly selling on amazon/dropshipping

Greeting fellow wearers of hats in the color of black. Here are a few tips to help you make massive heaps on amazon, tested and proven by myself, 100% obtainable. This takes no investment to start.

These are just some basic points, if you would like more detail leave a question in the room so everyone can see. I also know tons about ebay too if you need help with that....

My personal Amazon Tips for You

I specialize in media, but you can apply this to any product.

1. Find an category you want to sell in and start making a note of how much items are selling for, example, if Dark Knight Dvds are selling of an average price of $15. Go to sites such as bestbuy, borders etc and see how much they would be there.

2. You can list an unlimited amount with no upfront fees on amazon, goodbye FeeBay. I would suggest getting a pro account for $40 a month so you can lower your selling fees.

3. You don't have to be the lowest price, I've sold thousand of products on their, I've had over 200,000 products listed before, maybe 100 of them were the lowest price. I've sold tons of products that were on the 3rd and forth page.

4. At first I didn't want to sell on amazon because I went and looked at the lowest price like dang...there's no way I can even come close to that price, I just listed some items to see, a few day later they sold. Don't be intimidated by the low price bandits.

5. Amazon's super fast loading system. All you need on amazon is the products upc code. It already has the pic description etc. You can mass upload upc codes at one time. I've done 50k uploads at once before...how long do you think it would take to get that many products onto Feebay???

6. Dropship from any retailer. So once you get the price from the retailer, again just make sure you'lll be profitable after fees. You can use an amazon calculator to find out your costs, google it.

7. Request payment daily. If you dont' have money to cover the cost of your orders no problem. You can request a cash request straight to your bank account daily from amazon. Usually takes 3-4 days. After you get this money, go online and order your customers product from the lowest priced retailer.

8. Remember to request when you order from your online retail store, that the price not be seen when you ship it.

9. Sell items over retail and still make money. You know I seen a seller on amazon that was selling all of his books/cds over retail. I was like this guy can't be making money. Then I looked at his volume of products vs how many sales he was making. Sure enough he was. He was almost always the last guy on the last page. But people were buying!! I think he was selling maybe .5% of his inventory monthly. So lets say he has 100,000 products listed, thats 500 sales monthly. Selling at or over retail and buying cheaper online dropshipping he would have an average profit of $5-10. So he was making anywhere from 2500-5k monthly selling at retail.


I just listed a few tips here, anymore question post them on here and I'll answer them for everyone to see. Yes this works and yes it takes $0 to start up. It's unlimited on how much you can make. There are some sellers on amazon making millions a month. It can and is being done all of the time.

Hey Nambooo, thanks for writing. Most people don't care...out of my thousands of sales I've only had a couple people be like hmmm ok. You can also use a less known online retail store such as buycotcom deepdiscountdotcom etc. I've dropshipped from amazon to ebay users as well, everything is in minilla envelope, most people just rip it open and are happy to see their product.

Check out this thread, there's some good info there. Also, I put up a large list of dropshippers (post #23) that will work with eGay sellers, so I don't see why they wouldn't work with Ama*zon sellers as well.

Hey Iron, I do have a specific niche I've been doing for a long time. You can sort on amazon by the bestselling items too if your looking at doing it that way.

Ive looked at this too and came to the same conclusion.
I think half the time people are so dumb they think its actually coming from Amazon! lol

The biggest thing I can say is look locally at the smaller stores (i.e. not nationwide ones) and see what prices you can pick things up at. There might only be one or two from any given store, but get a few of them under your belt!

Think about second hand stuff and look at your local second hand stores, these are golden. Also I found TV boxsets were very good (make sure they are the latest though), I could pick up 24 for $25 less than the cheapest seller on Amazon at the time.

Hey nufman, no you can sell from international too, there's plenty of UK sellers on there. You can just ship to americans if you wanted. Just use the same tatic, find a US online retailer that sells the product cheaper(or in my example you can list at retail too) then ship it to your US customer. Or apply the same thing overseas. You can also ship to international customers from the US, just find a retailer that ships there.

---I wanted to add that amazon also gives you a shipping credit too. Say if you sell a dvd, they will cover your cost to ship it!--Try that on Feebay

Hey Mrunkown, your right it's 14 automatic, you can go in and do it manually and get a transfer everyday if you would like.

And be ready to submit document once they suspend you if you sell at high volume

100,000 products listed, thats 500 sales monthly <== With a new seller account , they won't let you list that many

Hehe, retail arbitrage, can simply buy from other amazon sellers that are selling for lower than you.

---You can build up to a higher volume if you want...that was with cds/dvds he was doing....you can sell something such as computer processors...I've done those before....check the price at tigerdirect or something...say a motherboard is selling 100 there....sell it for 150 on amazon...transfer the money into your bank account...then go online and order it.

It's true books cds and dvds take more volume because of the low margin...but if you sold 30 of these computer processors in a month thats 1500 just from that one product alone. Very easy to do.

What happens if one of your customers does a charge back? Will Amazon take that out your account?

How much do you typically mark up an item over retail and have it actually sell?

I assume it's all a big numbers game?

Hey worhire...your right not that many people buy at retail...so you would need alot of products in volume to make up for this.

However we all know there is tons of places online to buy stuff way under retail...that's the best practice for me...see my comment above about the computer parts version.

Hey Adlad...I've only had this happen a couple of times...sometimes it's true the mail will mess something up and it doesn't get delivered. If your shipping something with more value to it...just get insurance and tracking on it so your covered.

Yeah, the thing about computer processors and such is that you would be targeting a more technically savvy market. These people are likely to seek out the best prices for their computer components.

I get the idea though. Guess the only way to know is to try it.

"Amazon first settles your account 14 days after you register.Subsequently, the settlement process repeats every 14 days. It normally takes 5 business days from the settlement until the money is available in your bank account."

So are you sure you can request daily? Maybe the daily option is only for long standing sellers?

Also, if you buy from a retailer online...(which I suggest instead of going to the store and mailing it yourself) The company you bought it from online will most likely have insurance on it.

This has happened a few times where my customer says they didnt get their product..so I email the retailer and they either reship or refund...no problems

Thats true word..just find out what works for you..you can sell anything from external hard drives, computer monitors, endless...and free to list them as well.

I just seen that too im almost positive they do some sort of thing where they hold your funds for x amount of time..

Hey again, they have never held anything from me...I know how it is on paypal where they do that. You can withdraw money to your back account once daily from amazon. Best thing to do is wait until the end of the day when sales are done, then withdraw daily.

There is no real logic behind them offering daily payments to new sellers. They would surely get killed by fraud.

So I don't see how this method can work unless you have an established Amazon seller account

I tend to agree with this point. Someone could simply list thousands of products at lower than retail and cash out.

this is a great thread, i think if you are not planning on scamming people, then there is no real need to to wait 13 days.. you can time your purchase on credit cards.. since you can carry a balance for more than 14 days but maybe as you get bigger and more serious you can keep a bank account with enough money/

the only problem i have with this is possible refunds/ return of product, how would you handle that? you mention insurance but do you handle that at all?

btw, does anyone know if amazon ships products without a price receipt?

Hey again...caution and detail is always a good thing...i like how your thinking...I went and found the amazon policy for everyone...:

Basically the policy below is saying, create an account, you could wait until the 13th day after to start selling, then everyday after that you can withdraw every 24 hours So sign up now...do your research for a couple weeks and have everything ready to go. Or if you have the money to cover buying the product you can start now...but don't let the 2 week wait stop you...its every 24 hours after that.

Amazon Policy
Your disbursements are based on a 14-day cycle starting from the time you were approved to sell using marketplace payments For new sellers, there is an initial 14-day holding period before funds will be released from your Payments account. Once you have received your first automatic disbursement from Amazon, you may be eligible to disburse funds up to once every 24 hours.
After a disbursement is initiated, it normally takes 5 business days until the money is available in your checking account.

Hey jinsandy good thinking, see my comment just above this too....Amazon does cover you for fraud so no worries there.

As far as the insurance...almost all retailers will ship their products, from tvs to ipod with insurance to cover themselves...no problem there.

Returns are a very low percentage of sales, the few that you may get, just have them ship back to you. Send to the merchant and have them ship another one...like I said this hardly ever happens though. You will be making more then enough to cover the extra shipping for this.

--ADDITION, I'm seeing now that I shouldn't have used the guy with 100,000 products as an example. As I commented before, you can do this on a much smaller scale, just with bigger profits...he was selling cds so small margin. If sold such things as tv's computer parts, tools etc, there is a much higher profit margin so you would have to list less---

Just list 100 items to start---Lets say you only sold 50 items...if you had a $30 mark up.(very easy in electronics etc) you would have $1500...not hard.

I was just using him as an example that people will even buy at retail...it certainly doesn't take that kind of volume to get good money, hope this clears some things up----

let's say real amazon sells the same product as you. Wouldn't the typical buyer just buy it directly from amazon instead of the third party offering it on amazon? When i shop i usually go for the real amazon one, as it's far more trackable and i know they will help me out if there's a prob w/shipping or whatever.

and have u ever had issues with returns?

Hey Werrich I use to think so too, but I sell things all of the time above amazons price...or amazons price is sometimes high too and I sell below. Lots of people buy from 3rd part...click on a user and look at his feedback....

Do most online retailers allow this? Because guitar center isn't really a drop shipper.... It seems like this would raise red flags with Guitar Center in this case, buying items with my name and credit card then shipping them elsewhere frequently.

Thanks for writing, I've done this thousands of times in my name and my business cards name to thousands of different customers. Never had a problem, it's the same thing as if your sending the guitar to your aunt as a gift. I've done this with best buy circuit, buydotcom amazon and many more. If done tons of purchases with my paypal debit card...it will not work if you try to pay just by your paypal email..debit card yes.

So even once you pass that 14-day holding period and become eligible for 24 hour disbursements, you still have a 5 business day wait before the funds are physically available to you? Or do you not have this 5 day wait at that point.

I guess this means you either have to wait the 5 days before you can order and ship the product to the customer..if you are doing this with no upfront capital...

or

..you have the cash available to front the cost of any sold item in order to have it sent out to the customer in a timely manner.
