Need Help on contacting business owners
Hey guys,
So as stated above, i'm going to contact few business in my area offering them websites for their business. I tried searching their company names online and found their telephone numbers. Do you guys have any tips on how i should approach the owners and keep the conversation flowing? I'm still 17 years old and i kind of feel nervous talking to them and offering the service.
Thank you guys

Re: Need Help on contacting business owners
Why do you feel nervous? Do you feel what you are offering them is not of value to them? When you speak to them, ask them questions that do not require a yes or no response? This can be difficult, but you avoid short answers which kill the conversation. Find a way to offer them a benefit first. For example, let them know that you can help provide them xx,xxx # of visitors (possible clients) each month by creating a website for them. Find out what makes them tick. Answer their needs first and they will answer yours.

Re: Need Help on contacting business owners
Honestly, I think cold calling annoys business owners. I never cold called anyone and I had received several calls from other "marketers" which I ended within 10 seconds ... yup ...
Now why did I put marketers in quotes? I strongly believe that true marketers should position themselves to the point where business owner calls you. Create your own site and market it, do PPC/SEO/Whatever else you do to attract people who actually need websites created. You can sell your services for more money that way.
Cold calls sound cheap and not really professional. It's exactly like those messages where you answer the phone and all you hear is "Hi, it seems you are eligible for a compensation ... please call 0000000000 for more information" ... if you catch my drift ... but then again, it's just my opinion.
