Life insurance or any kind

Anyone into selling insurance specifically life insurance? My brother and I are trying to look into to it but have no idea where to start. We're successful web designers and SEO experts. So building a website and providing our own SEO isn't a problem. We just want some more residual income to support us(greedy =P). Anyway anyone know anything? Meanwhile I'll continue to google stuff just curious if anyone on here was into to it since I've gotten a lot of help here before.

Insurance would be a good fit for residual income. Your first step would be to take and pass your state's life insurance exam. I would also be willing to answer any questions that you may have.

Do you need a certification to start selling life insurance?

You don't need a certification unless you wanted to become an insurance broker. I wouldn't recommend that, especially in the beginning. Instead, get started with what you're good at: Building websites that get traffic. Specialize in a niche or specific geographic location first. For example, "San Francisco Life Insurance." It's going to be really competitive and it's going to take time to get ranked.

You can start off by monetizing with just plain old CPA offers. Once you're getting some consistent traffic, then you can reach out to local brokers and sell them insurance leads directly. That could triple (or more than triple) your income literally overnight. Then, once you have the traffic source already proven, if you really want to look into becoming a broker, go for it. But don't start by becoming a broker. Start with the traffic.

I'm in the same boat as you. Not many people where I'm from (Tennessee) search for life insurance. It's a product that needs to be sold on a personal relationship. Some business owners need life insurance to secure a loan, but that's usually done at the bank also. I also encountered a big problem with State Farm agents conquering the local results. Did you know that there is a 70% fail rate of agents in their first year? That's how competitive life insurance is. Good luck!
