need a little help. Started filezilla,

well, i read the tutorial somebody gave me from (filezilla's video tutorial) and i followed it, and everything went great until i try to connect and it says connection timed out, could not connect to server.

any pro filezilla users here (mac) that can tell me what the problem is ?

holy shit... im a newb here man i am trying to get this method off the ground i bought hosting and domain and the times just ticking so im wasting money just sitting here

try another ftp software.

Check your internet connection speed, I used to have this sort of problem and was the shitty internet connection in my country.

Good now has improved.

basically was almost impossible upload anything to my server, or took very long time.

Make sure that ftp is turned on in your cPanel. One of the hosting companies I use has a button in the cpanel where you decide how long you want the ftp on for, and by default it's off. It took me a while to work this out. Check the email you received when you first signed up.

Also make sure your details are correct. If the ftp address doesn't work then try the ip address. Lastly, open/closed ports can sometimes be an issue, as is making sure you have the right port.
