As most of you should know, the SuperBowl is tomorrow. Being from the UK, my knowledge of American Football is minimal, but that’s not going to stop me making bank from the event.

There will be millions of people watching it in the US and around the world, and therefore there will also be a TON of people online looking for ways to watch it. They will be desperate and willing to do almost anything to watch the event. I’m purposely setting everything up last minute so there is less time for forum moderators/Facebook/Twitter etc. to ban my links. Anyone (and I mean anyone) will be able to drive traffic to an event as large as this.
I used to make a lot of cash with soccer live streaming in the UK and content locking to monetize so I’m going to apply the same method to this event.

There are two ways you can set it up:

Free website (blogspot or similar) or your own domain. I’d recommend a cheap .com, but you don’t have to. A shared host will also be fine as you’ll only need it for a day. Most of them won’t cut you off for a little while – so by the time they get round to banning you, you’ll already be done for the day.

If you go with your own domain, I wouldn’t recommend using Wordpress as it is resource intensive and will load too slowly. Plain HTML will be fine. Design a really simple landing page. And when I say simple – I really mean it. I’ve always found simple sites to be the most effective. If you can’t design a site yourself, hire someone on Fiverr or use Httrack to rip a site you like. Don’t worry about putting any content on the site – just a title like “Watch Superbowl here LIVE!” should be fine. And a note saying “please be patient and wait for the stream to load” – people will quickly exit if it doesn’t load immediately.

I would recommend embedding a stream from a site like uStream or Justin.tv – highlights from 2011 will be fine. As long as they see something loading then they will just assume that the coverage is legitimate. It would be quite common to show last year’s replay and they will be hit by a locker pretty quickly anyway

You should now have a site setup:

A simple header (rip a banner from another site); an introduction to the event and a fake video player with an embedded stream. You could go a step further by adding things like a Facebook share button – you might get lucky and go viral.

Once you have your site up, it’s time to setup your content locker. I use Content Lock Pro (we're running a $87 promo for 2 days only!) for this as it allows me to use higher paying offers that you won’t get on specialist content locking networks. As it’s such a high traffic event, I wouldn’t bother having it load on-click (e.g. when they start the video). I would set a 20-30 second delay on the locker popping up. It will give the stream enough time to start, but not enough time for them to realise it is not actually live. Rotate a few Superbowl related email submits (there are loads around at the moment) and that’s done on that front. I’ve got a few paying $1.80 that I’ll be using with Content Lock Pro. Add a message to the locker saying something like “please take 30 seconds to visit one of our sponsors and support the site – the live stream will then unlock”

Now you have your site and locker setup, it’s time to drive some traffic. I’d advise setting the site up on Saturday (today) or early in the morning before the event starts. I wouldn’t bother sending any traffic before the event, wait until a few hours beforehand.

There are literally hundreds of sources of traffic, but here’s some that work well for me in the soccer market:

- Justin.tv (spam chat boxes)
- Ustream (spam chat boxes)
- Facebook fan pages
- NFL forums (register the day before so you can post links)
- Twitter (especially if you have Tweet Attacks)
- Other live streams (spam chat boxes)
- Related blogs (hopefully find auto approve comments)
- Buy an Xrumer blast on Fiverr with your link (do this the day before).

Doesn’t matter if your domain gets sandboxed as you’ll only use it once
Most of these are very easy to post links on.

I’d recommend hiring someone (pay them $20 for the evening or whatever) and get them to just spam your links everywhere. Don’t worry about getting banned – just post everywhere you can. If you have tools to automate the process – great! If not, it doesn’t matter. There is tons of traffic out there. I would make mid $XXXX in a day (manual posting) when a big soccer event was on – and the Superbowl is even bigger.

Hopefully some of you will have your first four (or even five!) figure day using this.

I’ll be doing this while watching the event… will you? There’s plenty of money to go around, so lets all go out there and make some money!

I was planning on doing this as well. Thanks for the tips on the setup Meathead! Quick question though: Can't we just provide an actual stream? Perhaps that will allow it to go more viral on social media?

I would not provide an actual stream unless it was 100% legal.

Sounds pretty easy to do but I'm still a noob and only been working with adsense so far. I know I can search but sometimes it's easier to just wait a few min for the answer so can anyone point me to a CPA network I could join and instantly be approved ?

Wouldn't bother. Go with the highlights from last year. They will never realise in time.

Yeah - it's not a new method, but it's definitely a good one to try. During the regular reason, posting manually would not always be worth it, but with a massive event like this it will be.

The highlights from last year is a good twist, though Better than using a fake player or trying to find an actual working stream.

I just approved all pending affiliates that were in the system and will be around for about 35 - 45 minutes and will check again if you want to apply between now and then.

There will still be people looking to watch it, trust me. This is even better, then. It just means there will be more people online looking to watch it.

When I do soccer, it's almost always available for everyone, but they still look for it.

I'd imagine their server will also crash and it will only be available to people in the US - so there will be tons of traffic who will be desperate to find it.

In fact, having it streamed officially will probably actually help you - you can just post "OMG OFFICIAL STREAM IS DOWN, HERE'S A BACK UP" - people won't bother checking, they will just rush to your site.

Remember - this is ALL about volume. Some people will just go to the right site, but you want to be the one who is spamming your links first.

Clearly I posted this far to slow :P already got the approved email!

Another tip is.. In general, before ANY big Live stream event. Take a look at the scheduling matches 1-2 week before it will go live. And build it up through SEO instead of spamming.

Also, not to forget, make a fake youtube video with a screenshot of the teams that will play, and include the url in the video. Upload it a hour, or straight on when the live goes on. I know people are still searching on Youtube for it too.

Ofcourse u can make 4 figures this way too, so go ahead guys/girls!

I would go with the highlights from 4 years ago, as it will be the same two teams playing. That would make it look even more real.

For everyone else that is part of a CPA Network that doesn't provide a content locker, you can still do this method even without a content locker.

1. Build a website/blog about the event and make it look great.
2. Put a photo of the event (add a text over the photo saying like Watch it on HD and also add a HD logo , search for it on Google).
3. Write a little description for the event.
4. Choose an offer , Email Submits and Zip Submits must convert great with this method.
5. Hide your traffic (cloak the link) using http://referer.us , if your CPA Network doesn't allow this type of traffic.
6. Write something like "Submit your e-mail in one of the offers below and you will get redirected to the Live HD Stream within few seconds".
7. Put a text "Submit Your Email Here" , that text must be the clickable link which redirects the visitors to the offer
8. Profit $$

They tend to convert pretty well, especially if you have content people REALLY want!

Why explain yourself Meathead1234, all your methods point towards content locking and you have always made it clear that there are alternative to CLP2.

I'm fully aware of this. This is another reason I say prepare it the day before. Most people will prepare way in advance and lose their sites before it even starts. By promoting it with a few hours to go, they will never take your site down in time. I've been doing this for years, so know all the tricks of the trade

In fact, because they are proactively taking down other sites, you'll have an advantage starting promotion with a few hours to go - you'll have a free run of various traffic sources

With IM, you need to be able to turn potential problems into opportunities. Think outside the box and you'll do fine.

A few people in this thread pointed out feds are shutting down streams.

If you read meathead1234's post carefully you will notice he does NOT suggest you have an actual stream but rather of highlights.

Don't break the law, just the bank.

Buy CLP as your locker and spam links on the day of the superbowl plenty of people will be looking for it online - it won't be an issue. That's why Tom posted this method!

You really don't need anything fancy. In fact, I could put a site up myself and I literally know nothing. You have 24 hours to go...

Even if you just use VERY basic HTML you should be able to work out:

- How to post a title and some text
- How to embed a stream
- How to embed a locker

It's purposely a last minute locker to avoid having your site taken down

The people who will convert best will be desperate. No-one is going to complete a content locker with 24 hours to go, they will do it when the game is starting. They will be DESPERATE TO WATCH!! That means $$$ for you

Meat. I am about to pick up your CLP finally. In the registration it mentions
CLP installation domain/path* and filename*. What should we put for this if we want it to be on more than 1 domain.

Do you redirect to a site streaming the video after or just leave them on your page?
