Default My IM Journal [15 y/o's Adventure]

Oh my, there are so many 15 year old threads/journals on here. It's quite fascinating seeing kids my age, with the same drive and motivation. It's very motivational!

Anyways, I started this journal to document and also keep myself determined. I started a clickbank journal a month ago, and.. I gave up! That's the one thing I did wrong.. I should have stuck with it and kept it going. I didn't keep my words.

But now with the fresh month of February, let's kick this off back at square one. I've picked up a bunch of ebooks from here, I've been reading nonstop for the past week. Thank god for my Kindle, I wouldn't have read as fast without it.

    February 3rd, 2012
    Resources/Materials:
    VPS (Upkeep: $10/mo)
One Failed MNS site. (I jumped in without doing the proper keyword research, and realized that there was too much competition.)
One successful MNS site. (After my previous failure, I decided to look over my strategies and do the proper keyword research. Surprisingly, it only took a day to find great keywords and a EMD.)

    Current Budget: $50

I am monetizing my micro niche site by content locking. It has pretty valuable info that will help every visitor who comes along. Averaging about 30 uniques/day.

Yesterday, I was talking to a person who wanted to invest into my business. He brought along a friend, who actually turned out to be the lead developer of EZlocal. (A business directory.)

I might take up on their offer. (Well, the investment will speed things up dramatically, as well as give flexibility to expand.) The only thing that I'm concerned with is how should I bring about my plan? How would I show the estimated return?

I was thinking of setting up 50 sites. Small investment to start and build our relationship on. Probably 10 authority sites, the rest MNS sites. I'll have to think a bit more on what my plan of action will be. I don't want to jump in without doing proper research. I might do keyword research first and bring it in as the plan.

Overall, a pretty exciting day! I will make sure to keep this posted, for my own sake too.

    Goals:
    • Reach $100/month (Unstable revenue.)
    • Reach $10/day (Stable revenue.)
    • Open an LLC.

Nice first post on this thread.

I will follow your journey as much as I can. You can follow mine too

One thing that you can think of is that you don't set up 50 sites directly. I know this from personal experience and I think the time is the limit here. Start out little by little

You sound a lot like me at that age (I'm 17 now), started when I was 13-14.

I say that as you've got a lot going on up there, but you need to ensure that you stick to a project or two at a time and test and scale until you find a nugget.

Reading is a quarter of the work; testing, failing and reapplying different methods is what will prove to be your ultimate success.

Initial research is key to success and you'll learn what works and what doesn't; you'll find the occasional gem and fail along the way; pick yourself up and try again - it's part of the game.

Set your goals high, but within reason - always a little bit out of your reach; when you get there it'll be all the more sweeter.

Best of luck with your project man, keep at it!

Thanks for the support, guys. Haha.

    February 4th

After trying content locking on my site, it didn't seem like it was converting. I played around with it, and still, no conversions. Even though there was over 70 uniques today, no conversions.
So I scrapped the content locking method, and I'm trying something new. I just joined the StrongerAds network, so I'll try playing around with CPA offers. (Like I've read before - take action, test adequately, scrape and move on.)

Start small, scrape the gems, and expand? Sounds good on paper, but I wonder how hard that will be. Blood, sweat and tears? I'm game.

Sorry, haven't updated in quite a while. It's been a crazy ten days so far. Hectic, pretty much. I can tell you, I am addicted to IMing. I just love it, even though I am not making any profit, it's something very enjoyable at IMing.

Anyways, I have talked with my investor. We've settled for a small investment of $100, that'll get me a couple MNS sites going. I'll monetize with CPA offers, some will be Opt-in newletters too. I also applied for an Adwords account and redeemed a $100 Adwords voucher. In the coming days, I'll be having fun with PPC. Any thing is profit, so I'm not too worried about losing anything in PPC. It looks pretty fun and interesting too. I've set up Tracker202 on standalone domain, and I'm pushing clicks through that. I'll be able to search through my data easily through that.

Until next time, BHW. I'll be back with more progress!

How do you get accepted into a CPA network at your age, without proof of identity? Most networks make you send them government ID and you need to be 18+ To register?

Not all networks require you to be 18+, only a W9 form is needed which is your SSN. (To the best of my knowledge..)

Played around with Adwords today. It's pretty competitive for the offers I'm trying. I set up two campaigns, with strong keywords. I set up a limit of $15/day total for all my campaigns. That should run through quick, but then again, it's still a test with PPC. Pretty interesting so far, I really like PPC so far. Though, it's such a pain to use and create campaigns with Adwords. (Just my opinion.)

Here's the path that a user will go through:

Clicks Google Ad -> Goes through Google's tracking system -> Redirects through my tracking system (Prosper202) -> Redirects to Offer Page.

Though, you have to find offers that comply with Google TOS and policies. For example, I couldn't promote an ad that had pop-ups when you the user clicks the backbutton. There's a lot of other policies you have to comply with, so I'd be careful with that.

I'll be getting a domain to put "middle-men" landing pages so I will be able to promote more offers that don't go with the policy. (Only the landing page has to comply.) But the downside is that the user has an extra page to go through before going to the offer page. :/

Anyways, pretty fun day. I'll be getting an extra $100 to invest into a couple MNS sites. I also have a quick method I want to try out that I found on this forum.

No, I haven't forgotten about this journal yet. I've just been way too busy to be able to collect and write down my experiences and thoughts so far.

PPC has been very boring.. so far 68 clicks, $20 paid, and no conversions. I guess that's time for something else. Unless I'm mistaken, and I haven't done enough testing on those offers. But in the mean time, I will be putting up a couple different other offers and keep moving.

I applied for an Adsense account for my upcoming MNS sites and will be starting to roll them out next week. Which is awesome, I've read so much information, so many ebooks on adsense and MNS sites that I really want to test a variety of different methods.

I did some SEO work for one of my friends. Just some on-page optimization, but I purchased my first link blast service from BHW and was pleasantly surprised the results. Definitely will be purchasing more services from here.

Also, interestingly enough, I met a guy at my school who does SeNuke X blasts on Fiverr. I've talked with him a lot, got a good relationship with him, and now we're looking into a possible JV together. Maybe providing a strong local SEO service, who knows. But a person that can build links will be very useful.

All in all, not very productive the past few weeks. I've been in Las Vegas, hitting up some family members. (It's a shame that I'm not 21 yet. Damn.) I have also been looking into Forex Trading. I know there was a JV here in BHW, that got me interested in Forex myself. Pretty amazing stuff, lots of information that I have to process though, hah.

Until I post again, BHW. See you later!

I LOL at you thinking that you're going to succeed at PPC etc first off. And second of all, stop wasting times on these micro sites if you want to make GOOD money.

I wasn't expecting to succeed at PPC at all. Actually, any conversion is pure profit since it's just a voucher that I used. It'd just be nice if at least one of those clicks would've converted. Though, I think it's a problem with the offer page. Hm, I'll have to test more.

Hm, why do you say niche sites isn't good money? From what I've read so far, BHW + tons of ebooks, they're pretty good passive income. I'm interested in what counts as 'good money'.
