Hi fellow BHW-members,
i just thought i would share 2 winks to this great method. It's 6.28 am (Now 07.12 am) and i'm still not finished with work
I already posted a smiliar way less detailed thread about fair's in jrvip, but 7878 inspired me to share my secret 
So lets come straight to the point: Fairs were always a good market. I went in my case to a "starting enterpreneurs, people who takover companys and Franchise Fair";
dunno how to translate that exactly, but you get the gist of it... anyway, i went to the fair and had some nice conversations with business owners.
The first one inspired me hard to act like a salesguy after he was asking what i do. I simply answered "SEO" so he got interested and brought me to the point that there i alot of need in local factors.
I realized it after i saw a storm of people enter the halls, and thought - "This is reallife-traffic, now go and convert!....heck, i'm getting a goldrush", and went straight into the "networklounge"
I started to talk to some women to get myself confident. Needless to say that some of them were CEO's or women in higher positions.
I guess i collected 5 businesscards and some mobileno's in my first hour! Some of them for clients some of them for .... you know
Okay, things went pretty good so far. I got myself a scotch for winning.
I ran into the "marketplace" spoke with every businessowner or related Person. Guess what? I got over 30 Businesscards, highly interested in my seo-service after 3 1/2 hrs of conversations.
Time for a break, i got hungry and went to the inhouse catering. I went to the table and got involved into a conversation about new marketing strategies. Result: 2 Businesscards
After a break i decided to get into the lounge room again and go for more. I wasn't so successfull the second time. after 4 hrs talking i just got 5 more businesscards. Maybe because of mytypical afternoon low. who knows?
I was about to quit but then i saw a onlinemarketing seminar starting in some minutes. I took a break for a cigarette and thought about to hijack their salestactic. So i went there and as i suspected the room was full of people and as expected some retards speaking. I just randomly spoke and proofed their methods wrong and way to pricy. (2k€ -10k€ p Month) They got pretty upset, i didnt care. Attention here's the second wink: After they spoke about their non(SEO)sense they got down to convert people with some pretty hostesses. Some of them converted, some got to me and gave me their businesscards. Conclusion:
Hijack a seminar, save 500€ for room and hostesses : 10 businesscards.
Summary: 52 Businesscards in 12 hrs, about 100€ spent for ticket, taxi, food and alcohol. + a invitation to the afterwork party ( where i made a contact to the company who does of the local fair marketing, heck i still don't know how to monetize them ^^) + got drunk for free
So how did it converted?
Well, i contacted a close friend of mine who runs a local / seo company. 10 of them signed up already, some are still into the thinking mode, some are not even called yet. I got alot of flyers too which i even didnt counted, maybe i convert them with the original 7878 orm letter, we'll see
Some of those guys who had a place on the fair gave over 5k business cards per day away. Btw the fair took 2 days, i just went there on the second-, way less trafficed day. I think i can recommend that to everyone who owns a seo-company with a office in good standing and a good website. Just don't do seminars, maybe you will have one of my sort sitting there and {flaming | trolling | stealing your customers| practiceing offline bum ***********
EDIT: Some of you asked where the actual twist is, actually i forgot it. sry. heck it was 7 am and i'm still working for 16 hrs now.
I came to this idea after reading a journal to 7878' thread. Forgot the name of the guy but he wasn't converting as good as 7878. Still good, but could be better. The solution is, to know those people and have a warm contact. More trust = more confidence = more sales.
Yeah you have to edit the salesletter and yeah your not just randomly sending letters. but seriously, whats a method without tweaks and own ideas? You can even improve my so called twist. I was just saying that if you are done with every possible client with negative reviews, you can head to this by just changing the letter a bit and visit a fair. The statistics and stuff can be the same. Feel free to add your ideas to it.
For all those others: go ahead and start flaming, i really dont care cause i made clients with this.
Try it for yourself before you start to be the judge.
