I'm considering using a direct mail technique to market my SEO and ORM but I'm not sure how it entirely works.
Can you pay a company to direct mail for you or do you do it by yourself? I would do it by myself except I always find it doesn't look as professional..
Opinions are appreciated.

Letter, as in the normal marketing mail.

I have done many of these and to be honest with you, the only thing you are doing is making the actual processing easier for yourself.

Here are things to consider.

• Have someone design your art, you print (at UPS store), you print the envelopes and mail. You will save a lot in most cases.
• The mail house can get discounted bulk rate. You can send yours as Media Mail and save half. Talk to the PO.
• Do not put your name on the return label, only address.
• Pay attention to how the letter is folded. It needs to make a great first impression. The mail house will also allow you to specify how to do this.
• Include a smaller 1/3 page coupon/flyer. Something that is small and catches their attention. Print it on pink or yellow paper.
