Hi, I'm currently 19 years old. And I am looking for guidance to make money online, about 5 months ago I had this plan to make money with a blog, but i never really comitted to it.

I would blog about the program, Adobe flash. I really liked programming simple games etc when i was like 16, But I never got any good at it. but if i were I could make money freelance as a flash developer right?

so the general concept of the blog was to learn 1 thing in flash every day, then proceed to write a tutorial about it on the blog. aswell as post the tutorial on a site called tutorialized ( the site sends people to your blog when they try to read the tutorial)

I only tried this once and got like 300 visitors the first day, because of the tutorial, I have no idea if 300 visitors is even any good, but I think i can make that number climb easily if i post on other sides aswell..

So I'm wondering if I can monetize something like this at all, if so should i use adsense? or try to find a flash related affiliate program?

I've searched a bit more and I found out that a company that sells a very good .swf flash file decompiler has an affiliate program that gives you 20-30 % comission each sale. I think the decompiler is great for learning etc, you can download any flash file off the web then decompile it to see how it's buildt up. perhaps I can mention it in a blog post + advertise it? or is this totally not viable?

I'd imagine commissions for this sort of stuff with be very low.

One of the issues on my mind would be "are your readers going to want a decompiler?". Considering they've came from a tutorial site chances are there will only be a small percentage of users that actually know what one is and how to use it. Out of that tiny percentage you'll probably get the odd one that is interested enough.

To get a good amount of conversions on something like a flash decompiler you'd probably have to write a tutorial on the benefits to using one in some detail. Enough to wet the readers appetite.

I've never had much success with programming type sites. Most of the products or services don't appeal to the average user.

That's just my opinion.

maybe allow viewer to see first part of tutorial and then content-lock the rest?? if ur tutorial is good they will probably do an email submit or something to view the rest of it (maybe discussion a common problem in detail and content-lock the solution). i agree with stella- i would not try decompiler affiliate because you will have low converts. nobody want to buy on tutorial sites- trust me )))
