Sell it?
yep, trying that
I have a friend who paints and sells them on Facebook mostly to friends, and friends of friends.
I hate traveling, mostly cause my dad used to beat me with a globe. Dave Attell
In my experience, it is exceptionally difficult. Perhaps one of the most difficult niches. I have 5 domains in this field, one of them with amazing rankings. Traffic is low and conversions suck. Art needs to be seen in the flesh, is my take on it, except perhaps if you're buying a standard poster print of some well known piece. Otherwise, I failed dismally and wasted a LOT of money. Much more effective is doing gift fairs etc and shifting it in person...
I have a shop on etsy currently myself
etsy is a good one. also take a look at fineartamerica.com
Might as well try selling it on CL also. Nothing to lose there.
make cheaper versions of your art, prints, t-shirts, mugs, earings and stuff like that. I guess you have to adapt, because it's kind impossible to sell my 2 meters high sculptures online...
And the promote your etsy store like any other product, make youtube videos, write articles, make a facebook fan page....and that
That's what I plan to do but I haven't done it yet for stupid and lazy reasons..
What kind of art do you do? If you are an experienced artist who can quickly do a pencil sketching of a person, you can probably try selling fiverr gigs where people order a pencil portrait as a gift. There are a few fiverr gigs like that and they are always busy. Check it out.
what kind of art like paintings??
there is a HUGE problem with etsy, and it stands around the most simpe rule of business... SUPPLY AND DEMAND. Etsy is stuff full of people selling same old crap. It's like going to iceland and trying to sell ice.
Think out of the box, or just go on your local highstreet... get a chair.. your art.. and a hot flask of coffee![]()

I'm a design graphic artist and i started my own business recently with website and portfolio, business card. Its going pretty well. But one thing is most important as all of this. Talk with people on whatever places you go, and show how you like your job. Whatever place. Do your personal marketing.
Sorry for my bad english.
My sister sells her jewelry on etsy. What about ebay?
