Basically we think that there is a time delay on allowing re-directs, i was able to do it the moment i decided to but i had already had an account and been posting for around a week. Give it some time and you should be able to re-direct.

The necessity of the re-direct is that when you use the re-direct as the source of the image, the image then becomes clickable once its posted. This way when people reblog it you re-direct link stays in the image.

I'm surprised you've had your account ban, mine is still fine but i guess that depends on how many times you have been posting per day and how obvious you are being with your affiliate links.


A little update from me, one of my images took off, now up to 3,500 Reblogs, no idea why because its nothing special but hopefully my aff is still there and ive been getting around 250 clicks a day now but still just the one sale. I'm trying to think of some more ways to increase the sales.

i guess that they banned me because last day almost all of my descriptions had the same text with the same bit.ly link i was just testing how it works. is there redirection link on all of your images or just on some?

Is it risky for our amazon accounts?

I've been using tumblr for a little traffic.

I tried your amazon method and yes it works.

I made two accounts, one to adfly with sexy pictures redirecting to my own sexy tumblr.
Made $0.20 in 2 days on adfly, 70+ clicks.

The other one with amazon links, shortened with bitly using popular random pictures.
bit ly tracks 150+ clicks, but amazon tracked 200+, don't ask me why.
Made 10 small sales, got $12.50 if i'm not wrong. I think the same person bought a couple of stuff, that's why there were that many sales at once...

On both accounts I uploaded untill tumblr's limit (I think it is 80 pictures/day)

Now let's see if this can be automated, lol.

I definitely think this method is a slow burner and people shouldn't be put off by crap statistics on amazon. I think you just need to steadily add content over a few weeks, adding keyword related descriptions with the pictures so they are eventually picked up and ranked in google.

Have been experimenting with this seo side of my tumblr posts and have been getting some visits from google, yahoo and bing. So doing this will help you in the long run.

Also you should add some related pics with a link back to actual tumblr blog, this will help get some targeted tumblrs to visit and follow your blog and make your followers grow more automatically and naturally.

Using the power of twitter may help also as a lot of tumblrs use twitter to share their content. So use the free tweetattacks software to start following keyword related tweeters, and then drive some traffic towards your tumblr blog. use the [your keyword] tumblr to follow tumblrs who are interested in your content with tweetattacks.

I've had plenty of clicks to my amazon, with no sales as of yet. But with the exponential growth of this method, you will be spreading out across tumblr and the search engines, eventually attracting those clicks and hopefully sales.

JackSparrow is right, this is definitely not an overnight money method. You just need to keep building up the content and with it you will build up the followers and hopefully get more and more reblogs.

well i gave up posting images nearly a week ago, but I checked amazon and I have 1970 Clicks and 1 order - earning of $0.58 haha! some kindle book, totally unrelated to my pics etc. so worked as a cookie drop. told my wife and she said "yea, but how long were you on there posting pictures!" haha, yea spent quite a few nights adding content... not sure if i will continue...

I appreciate the update. Let us know in a week or two if you're still getting clicks. I'm still making money off videos I blasted months ago. That's the way a lot of internet marketing works. It's residual. Set it, forget it, come back a few weeks later and have a few more bucks just sitting there.

Sweet, well the option for redirect is now showing up. If it's not showing up for you it's because your account is new. Just give it a day or two and it will.

Sorry, still not seeing the need for a redirect even factoring in reblogging. I guess the reblogger will be less apt to change the link if they see it is from a tumblr domain? maybe that's why? again sorry

Anyway I will be testing both to see which I like best. The math of monetizing this doesn't really seem to work out for me. Too much trouble for the small amazon commission you might get. But, this has worked wonders on increasing my impressions by directing to my own site! In fact it has doubled them. friggin sweet.

If you are worried about your click rate you can use this and never have to worry about it again. Thank you so much for showing us this. I had heard of tumblr but never would have thought of using it without this thread

tumblr account in first post is banned. haven't checked it in a while... were you adding too much stuff too fast or something? I had a tumblr account that was simply posting like 500 links to my internal pages for indexing and it got banned in a few weeks.

I have another one that simply posts a pic and a link to my site for each page that I add. That one is fine though.

I started actually with different method and then added a twist to it and used your tumblr method along with it.I made $1.75 with just one sale . I recently tried re-directing mine to a groupon refferal link but that was a silly idea but worth a go. I just wish there was a better way to monetise this traffic cos im getting nearly 300 clicks a day with this now.

Nah but seriously i'm just posting stuff related to my niche, but it seems to be like nectar to the tumblr hipsters. Having 1,000 followers helps though, the bigger reach i have initially the more chance there is of a snowball effect. I've just not yet been able to find the right kind of product to target. All i've sold so far is a printer cable and baby bottle sterilisers... lol

You can use tweet attacks to get more followers and reblogs. Just use wait and reply and search for "tumblr" and "tmblr".

Thanks a lot for noticing this, it must of happened when i copied and pasted the code from imacros. I've changed the above code now.

Put up 13 posts, 6 original content. Ran Jack's tool. Got 3 followers and 1 reblog so far lol.

I'm thinking / wondering if I should have waited on the original content, before having more followers. Some should do really well, if the niche I'm targeting is active enough. I also imagine, later on I could just delete some of them and repost if they don't get action.

still got no earns - but it's still really interesting method to me, i feel - there must be a great potential with proper use, and it discovered such a great thing as tumbler for me - just had no idea about it before. now my goal is to get many followers for my niche and then make a kind of provocation to make some of them fill a CPA form for me
btw - have anyone figured most optimal speed of posting? also int's interesting if number of allowed posts depends on profile's age or followers number..

I used this method Thank you OP. I made $1.65 for a CPA offer out of 99 clicks. I only did this a few times but will try again. She was right you can earn your first $1 with this.

I made my first IM dollar with this method so I will say that it definitely works.

Nonetheless, I've spent a decent amount of time without much of a return and so I am hanging up the proverbial boots in this case. It is far more time consuming, but as a noob article writing is yielding some pretty nice (labor intensive) profits.

Maybe I'll jump back on the Tumblr train at a later date.

I made around a dollar with this in about a month and it can be quite time consuming, i was getting sometimes 500 clicks a day through my amazon link and basically no sales, i think there are better ways to monetise for my niche, but until i can think of one i'm going to use it to drive traffic to my band's facebook page instead lol see if it gives a nice promotional or like boost.

Just been using my script for the last 10 days following other niche related tumblrs and have made 3 sales on Amazon totaling $6 in commission. That is from just two picture links to Amazon that i currently have on Tumblr. So believe me this method can work.

oh, no updates for so long? i've done 3 attempts btw, 2 of my blogs were banned by tumblr. the last one is alive and related to very special adult niche, i've got about 200 followers by two weeks and got about 200 visitors for today. i've developed simple php scripts wich let me automate posting just by placing files to my server's folder and doing reblogs with semi automated tool wich collects reblog links to images i click - everything runs on my cheapest hostgator account. but... now i totally have no idea how to monetize this now. if someone have got good strategy able to do at least several hundreds per month - i can exchange my software for the secret
