Summary
- I've almost reached my 2 month mark of being on BHW and I want to commit to something.
- I am going to tackle some broader authority sites in order to make me $50/day within 5-6 months.
- I will start with 1 site and prior to launch, will write about 20-50 articles before opening to search engines.
- The first domain is only 2-3 months old.
- I will be using Wordpress. I will find a proper theme later, or make one.
- Revenue will be primarily adsense based.
- I will write periodically to update status and note feedback to adjust/enhance method.

Tools I will use immediately
- Keyword Scout - This seems to be a perfect choice for my purposes, especially with the LSI Keyword addon and SEO Competition addon.
- Treepad (free version) - This is just to help organize my keywords.

Tools/Services to Use
Note: (I wont use these until I hit between 50-100 posts)
- SenukeX Services - variety of backlinks is always great.
- Scrapebox - For scraping high PR blogs and manually/semi-automatically commenting
- Article Writing Services - outsourcing content seems to make sense once I make a bit of money

Wordpress Plugins Used
- Yoast Wordpress SEO + SEOPressor (For General SEO Purposes/Handling)
- Akismet, Link Juice Keeper, Quick Cache, Simple 301 Redirects, WP SlimStat, Google Privacy Policy, Image Lazy Load, jQuery Lightbox

My Plan
- For every Authority Site, grab a broad niche. Create 10-15 categories to post in.
- Lock down wordpress from search engines. Immediately Write a total of 30-50 articles (500-800 words).
- Open to search engines and write 3-5 posts every day (or more, if time allows). Add adsense.
- Get targeted ideas from Keyword Scout research and article ideas from Google Alerts.
- After a decent amount of articles are created, I will start to backlink using various tools such as AMR, SB, SenukeX, etc.
- Once I start getting clicks for adsense, split test different ad types/locations
- I will also incorporate any suggestions/ideas that are given to me here.

Day #1:
- Created 11 categories based around the broader niche.
- Chose a temporary theme to help visualize things (eNews Theme)
- Took each of those categories and grabbed keyword ideas from Keyword Scout. (600-800 LSI in total)
- Took each of those categories and created Google Alerts.
- Filtered duplicates of keyword ideas and stuck them into Treepad for organization.

You're writing all the articles on your own?

Thank you kindly good sir, I will do just that ;)

Thanks :) I hope to get some good results, especially with all my articles I have planned.

yeah. I can write articles rather fast. Its what I used to do with Fiverr. If needed (and if I cannot keep up with the goals), I will outsource.

How long does it take you to write an article?

Usually under 30 minutes unless I do a custom graphic/thumbnail. Sometimes 15-20 minutes if I know what I am talking about. lol. With Keyword Scout + Google Alerts, I can usually write "recent" news-worthy articles quite fast with some nice

They are in a conversational style which is easy to understand/read. I then take an extra 5-10 minutes getting SEO up to par with Yoast + Seopressor. (not completely watching the % as I am using LSI's rather than a targeted keyword article).

I assume this is a good approach for an authority site, anyway. :)

Best of luck, really good to see members taking actions.

Interesting Journey. Subscribed. I am also building 15 authority sites :D
Good Luck :)

Google loves authority sites but still I would recommend you to not put all of your eggs in a single basket, if you know what I mean.
Subscribed ;)

interested :) wish you luck , i will keep an eye on this thread please update us

What I'd like to know from those targeting authority websites, if I continue to write articles, work on SEO, backlink, etc, is 6 months a decent timeline/goal for this?

Day #2:
- Removed 1 category (it wasn't related enough)
- I used Alerts to get recent articles then Keyword Scout + Google Adwords Keyword Tool to find related keywords and LSI's.
- Wrote 11 articles for 10 categories (one for each category + 1 extra for a category I am most familiar with).
- First round of articles are released. If I keep up with 10 articles a day ( minus day #1 which was for set up ) I can reach around 300 unique articles in a month. Not sure if I will write 10 articles per day, it'll depend on the opinions of people watching this thread.
- Each article is between 500-900 words each. Half of them with a custom thumbnails and pictures.

Recently I saw too many of these journals stopped, I hope yours not will be one of them!
Good luck, subscribed.

Yeah, I'll definitely try to keep people updated :) for me, making money online isn't a hobby, but more of a necessity. I know I've said that before, but its quite true in my situation. I ain't going anywhere :D

Quick Questions for you:
1) Do you guys think 6 months is a good goal?
2) Do you guys disallow categories/tags in robots.txt?

Day #3:
- Removed 1 category + 1 post (saved the post for later). I need to find a better source before doing an article a day with the category. Decent alerts weren't rolling in.
- Wrote 8 new articles today.

Stats:
18 Articles in 2 days.

Average Articles: 9 articles/day
