I just evacuated from Japan yesterday and now I'm in Australia.
Whats happening over there is insane, and there's a possibility I can't go back if the situation gets worse. Potential radioactive outburst, earthquakes almost every single day, economy collapsing, ATM's being disabled, and electricity supply decreasing massively, so much that we might completely run out unless the generators start working again...which is doubtful.

I'm Japanese and my family is still there, so I can't stay in Australia forever. Employment is not an option because under my visa, it's not allowed. I'm running out of money so I need to start earning quick.

I need ideas to generate cash. Otherwise I'm potentially f*cked!

Here are the resources available to me now:
-creditcard, slow internet access (so youtube uploading is not an option), a macbook, and some cash ($1000)

Here are the skills I have:
-create wordpress sites, basic SEO, english/jap skills

I'm willing to build my skills so I can increase my options so thats not a problem. I just need to DECIDE QUICK on an idea which I can initiate to earn some money so I can at least stay alive.

My head's still in panic mode from all the shit back home so its really hard to think straight. I need some ideas and I would really appreciate it.

the only thing i can think of to make money right now is freelance writing. ac, text broker, bright hub. your grammar qualifies you. use a spinner and submit to everyone.

If not, and if you're "totally new" to making $ I would suggest offering some type of "service" so that you could get paid to your paypal / other type of account daily.

I've built a site before for the worldcup 2010 where I uploaded the video for every match and wrote commentary. Unfortunately didn't get enough organic traffic so ended up with around 100~150 visitors per day (mostly from Facebook).

Now I'm better with keyword research and I took my shopping site to no.1 on google (although its dropped to the bottom of page 1, I don't know why.) Unfortunately I can't ship stuff overseas because of the logistics - they were all done in japan...

-Affiliate Marketing experience (banner ads - even though I generated $0)

c0rup7: I forgot to answer your question - YES - I've had affiliate marketing experience but ended up with $0. I've also tried selling ebooks directly to people in need on twitter (ie-giving affiliate link for diaper training to parents who were struggling with toilet training their babies) - BUT ended up with $0 conversion. Even though I achieved 200~250 clicks.

Long story short, I've lost a bit of confidence in affiliate links unless there's a better way to do it than what I was doing before..

one of the quick ways to make $$$$ directly in your pp is to offer some sort of service.since you know seo,and i believe you can invest $100 to make some money,,you can do it.
or else...go to the local news channels,,tell them you can get people's interview,latest video's on current situation in japan.. contact someone in your country,ask him to get a good cam..and start shooting video's.sell those videos all over.you will make good cash,,then come back, invest in cpa + ppc...and go help others in your country.

If you need quick cash then freelancing writing would be a good way to go. You can go with somewhere like Associated Content or try selling your services here or at other forums. You seem to be pretty literate and it's fast / sure money without the randomness of affiliate stuff.

You could also try Twitter marketing; you could get Tweet Attacks, a couple of new domains to work with and a windows VPS to run TA for under $200. You could be up and running and getting traffic within a week. Whatever you choose to do, you are going to have to bust your ass.

Do you guys have any ideas for anything I can provide on Fiverr which has good demand and average competition? I used to review websites/services and make YouTube videos + posted them onto my site, but since the internet is slow, thats not an option....

It should be easy to dominate many small scale niches in JP, the country is wealthy, populous, the devastated areas hopefully rebuilt soon. And a hard language is a nice buffer.

I've got a twitter account with 1500followers (mostly affiliate marketers following me). Now I'm using it to update ppl with the earthquake/tsunami/radioactive news in Japan. Perhaps I can put it to good use, but I have no ideas as of yet.

I'll look around and post copywriting jobs!!! (or if I can write, and place affiliate link on article site, would that be another good idea for short-term cash?)

You could donate blood, sperm, or an organ. Maybe you can throw up a quick " Help save a victim in need " face book page with a paypal payment option and write a fully detailed point of view from your experiences dealing with this catastrophe.

Then create similar project hiring article writers for a smaller amount compared to the previous article writing projects that you have bid for. The fastest option for you right now is to make money via freelancing and providing services. Dont waste time on Elance or Odesk, you will take ages to win a project and get paid if you are not a seasoned provider with lots of reviews, as you will have to compete with Indians and others Asian providers who will be having lots of reviews already and will work for lot lesser than you would expect. I speak by personal experience, who has been working on those freelancing sites for past 3 years.

For you, if you can really provide something of value, there are lot of potential buyers here in BHW family, who will be willing to help you(including me).

Post your service thread, get it reviewed by a mod here, explain him your situation so he might process your application over others, since the mods are also busy gentle men, be polite to them when asking to review your service.

You said you don't have a job so I'm sure if you're dedicated you can work 8 hours a day and I imagine at least 20 articles with that amount of time. 20 x $4 or $5 = $80 -$100/day.

It's not a ton, but it's the only GUARANTEED cash you will receive in IM. It sounds like you have the grammar and English skills so all it takes is hard and dedicated work.

I feel terribly sorry for your situation and the advice I'm giving is the 100% the best I can give. If you put the time in you can definitely make at least $50/day. It's not a lot, but it is something.

First things first I think you should prepare a little and calm down, make a long-term plan. I think it will take some time but you will get there. I would put those seo skills to good use and make a website. Maybe even talk about your experience as people here suggested. Once you have a website start building links (Scrapebox) and get traffic. But don't forget to think about how you will monetize it. Good luck!

yeah its a nice idea but I guess it is pretty hard for mods to approve service threads which are not unique and don't put value on bhw to make the quality of this forum.

I would suggest you to browse the hireafreelancer section and may be open a JV thread where you can offer that he is available for getting hired for some non technicality/ technical work and are ready to get paid for whatever % his JV partner decides. This way he might get a deal.

Speaking from my own personal experience: it takes too much time to build reputation there as a freelancer and until then you will have to work for very small amounts of money.

We live in the state next to Fukushima called Tochigi. I also read the news today about the WHO saying it's safe to visit outside the radiation zone, which is set at 30km. There's still precautions telling us to wear long-sleeved shirts, and to stay indoors as much as we can. The US/UK government on the contrary has told their people to evacuate to at least 80km radius of the nuclear plant. So there's this whole clash of "expert" opinions which confuses us as to which information is correct.

It might be safe to visit but it's definitely not the best time. If you go into a supermarket, there's no water, battery, toilet-paper, rice, etc - and there's still M4~5 aftershocks around the area so it's not pleasant...

Are you sure you're not an australian who's taking advantage of a natural disaster to steal methods and is that why your english is flawless?

I don't blame you for thinking I'm an australian taking advantage of a natural disaster. I grew up going to international school in various different countries because of my dad's job. Then in the last 2yrs I moved back to Japan, trying to do IM and part-time jobs. I went to Australia for uni, so thats why I have friends offering me a place to stay

Anyway, the severe area in Japan is the whole coastal area around Miyagi where the tsunami hit, and Fukushima- where there's radiation threats.

I think things are normal around Osaka because its more down south. But there's some trouble in Tokyo too. Trains are not working, and a lot of basic necessities are hard to buy.

Again, if you put into perspective the millions of people in Miyagi losing homes, families, and everything they've ever owned, situation in Tokyo is like a little pebble.

Sorry to hear this man , from what i learned the easiest way to make money is Website Flipping or CPA , i see that you can buid a blog + onpage seo , so you can start with website flipping.
About CPA , try to download all the course and method from BHW and READ THEM ALL TWICE OR THREE times after that start the action , its not that hard.
