Hi everyone reading this thread. If you're an experienced site flipper, please do me a favor by writing a step-by-step guide to selling websites on the Internet, places like sitepoint or DP. I tried googling up but have found not much useful information.

Hey, don't try to act as if you are a Pro. Of course I did search through the forum and yet I found nothing that can solve my problem.

I am not requesting for those flipping guides sold on DP or whatever. I just wanna know the procedure of selling a website. If you are such a Pro, why don't you write something here instead of betting your little 10$? You might earn a Thank from me anyway.

i dont see why you would need a step by step guide at all...its actually pretty basic stuff...

create a thread in BST>Sites about your auction/sale. Give all required info.

wait for people to bid.

nothing complicated at all. and as for what kind of sites sell and how to conduct an auction just hang around the concerned forum/marketplace and you can pretty much make it out yourself.....

I think my title is misleading. I don't want those guides that teach how to build a site. What I want is the safest method to transfer the site to the buyer as well as to receive the payment. You know there are too many scammers out there who don't pay after the site is transferred.

You could use Western Union or you could ask for an advance, then give domain. Then give a specific folder of your site, and the buyer pays one more percentage. Then you give the rest of the site and he gives you the rest of the money. This is how a lot of people do it. I may post a guide about website flipping in the future.

The best and only way to avoid being scammed is to never transfer anything before you get the money.
Sell your site on ebay or sitepoint, or DP if you already have some rep in there. You can get paid via paypal, so there will be proofs for the buyer that he actually paid you, this way he won't be afraid of you scamming him, and he'll know that he can get back to you in case there's any problem with the transaction.
Once you received the payment, transfert it to your bank account so the charge can't be reversed (i.e. the buyer can't scam you and take the money back), and only then push the domain name into his account, and give him to files or transfer the site.

Don't deal with people who won't pay you before they get the site, these guys will likely never pay you.

If you really do the post then it will be much appreciated. I have read many site flipping guides but none of them actually explains the detailed process of the entire transaction.

You mentioned Western Union. Some other ebooks advised people to use escrow or paypal. Any comment on that?

I'm sorry, I meant to say escrow, I was randomly thinking on how eLance has an escrow service and I don't know why I posted Western Union. WU doesn't have an escrow service.

@Zak A: So u mean it's better to push domain before sending website files or transfer? But I thought domain is more important since the website files can be backed up?

Ok I will try:

1. Take your time to think what you will be making the site because this is one of most important things to do.

2. When you have your idea ready, get host you can get free one (not suggested) or paid one (recommended).

3. Next you will need to build site, it can be blog or site, you can create cool but kinda simple site with Webpage maker (I use it all time) just search google ''Webpage maker torrent''

4. Now domain, you can buy at name.com because they got great support and .com are cheap. Think about this a while too, and chose wisely.

5. Now that you have your site done and domain you will need good keywords because it's very important in future SEO. You can easy search HERE

6. Next the SEO because people these days really like to see good Pagerank

Just search White Hat Seo section

7. When you have nice seo go to sitepoint or digitalpoint, remember to write very interesting about your site and include traffic stats and earnings.

Well, can I actually use Paypal to receive money instead of escrow? I mean I am not familiar with it and it has higher charges right? I know escrow is safer than using paypal in this case.

A good guide to building and flipping a website. But what I want to know is the transaction aspect itself rather than the site creation and promotion.
