Hey i have an independent record label, and putting out a single this year..

digital download only...i-tunes...

you need around 7K downloads to get into the Top 10 of the UK chart...

It costs 79p to download the single, then 49p is sent back to the label (myself).

Ive been reading up on any methods on how to boost the singles sales...

From what it looks like, 1 account 1 sale... I cant just sit and buy the single over and over...

But was wondering would it work if i bought aload of vouchers and purchased the single that way?

I know this will technically cost me money, ut in the long run very much worth it..

anyone have any idea how their system works? would i need to use proxy's?

if you are thinking of doing this, maybe you should wait till january, its the slowest time of the year for single sales..

I guess as long as your spread the sales out across the country using proxies, vouchers should work..but then, they might notice something suspicious. one band sold (gave? not sure) sim cards with some credit on to fans to buy their single, and they got caught..

go upto people in the street, make them download by paying by sms (see 7digital.co.uk), and re-imburse them the cash. that way you arent using consecutive numbers, nothing is IP traceable, and its unlikely that they'll know..but it would take a lot of work..
