    Default Is Internet Marketing Over?

Is Internet Marketing dead from all the hype and competition online? As many people might think this, the opposite is actually true.

The Internet is growing and becoming much more resourceful each year. Millions of peoples are now coming online to take educational classes, chat with old friends, play online games, or pay their bills. In addition, you also have social sites where millions of people flock to discuss specific subjects such as American idol, Nascar, or Golf. With this in mind, it is clear to see that Internet Marketing is not irrelevant and is becoming more relevant and a possible business platform for someone seeking to escape the rat race.

But there is a “catch”, and that is over 80% of people never get a check of over $100, 15% get the occasional check and the remaining 5%; or the ones who are willing to treat it as a real business, are the ones who get the monthly checks.

    Education is Key?

There’s literally dozens of books advertised online on websites that make claims of easy earnings. Most of the programs out there though are what they call “rehashed stuff” meaning someone gets resell rights of other people’s ideas and market them under their own name, or sum up another programs ideas and give it a new name. This is common , but a factor to keep note of.

Despite all books and resources, what internet marketing and making money online boils down to is how to implement the knowhow. No books nor any marketing courses can come anywhere close to pure practical experience. This is the same with any business venture; whether online or offline.

    What’s the Verdict?

If you want to make money online learning how to market is the first step. The key is planning and setting up basic strategies that can aim at paid or free traffic, and executing these strategies successfully. The activities with the highest leverage should be key also to anyone looking to go from “0 to 60” online, and these include keyword research, finding profitable markets and partners, and getting information on affiliate networks, guides and a variety of valuable resources.

By treating internet marketing like a real business, applying a business-like mindset to your goals, results, and activities, things will eventually begin to snowball and you will naturally come up with better ideas, resources, and even products that can lead to greater success.

It is actually much bigger than before. More and more people are buying stuff online. I think the future is in online retailers. I even see people around me, who don't use internet so much, are buying clothes and electronics online. Stuff online is usually cheaper than in local retail stores.

Just because the hype is over (or maybe it's still going, I have no clue) doesn't of course mean it's dead. But it seems that those cases like Amazon, Facebook, Google, and whatever are kind of over.

The vast majority aren't trying to market anything, they are looking for a shortcut to quick cash. That is why this place is awash with people shouting that the sky is falling.

The ones that are willing to stick it out and actually learn marketing as a trade are the ones that succeed; and the vast majority of them see the internet only as a distribution channel for real marketing efforts.

"Internet" Marketing is such a small piece of the larger Marketing puzzle.

I made $10,000 selling a piece of software online. I made 10x that selling a piece of software offline.

That doesn't mean offline is bigger or better. It just means don't limit yourself. Billionaires were made LONG before the Internet existed.

The reason the percentage of the successful IM community is so low is because people don't want to do the dirty work, most people take up IM because they were pitched some idea that working from home is easy as 1 2 3, and they give up as soon as they realize that actual brain power and dedication is needed.

Actually, I believe now is the time to start expanding. More and more people are going online, internet sales are increasing, and many are discouraged from IM.

With that being said, all business models have to evolve with the changing times, so if you don't keep up with the new trends and test out new methods, then your IM will fail just like a real business would.

I guess the OP is trying to increase the post count.

Yeah, totally over.... Waste of time.. Go get a 9-5 while there are still some out there!

I am just tired of all this MLM and Matrix bs. People thinking they can make "moniez" by bringing in a few people, and then expecting those people to magically bring in 100s of people and make them rich.. laziest bunches of SOBs in the MLM/Matrix areas.. All they want is free, isntant, and don't have to lift a finger...

    1. Internet marketing is not dead and as long is there is an internet, it never will die. The internet is increasingly becoming one of the largest marketing mediums. Just look at all the advertising you see every day from not only regular affiliate but large corporations and companies as well. As it expands, it is increasingly becoming more profitable if you expand with it.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood what you said before, I get it now!

About the post itself, and despite being spam or not, there's something I personally believe it should be said.

I agree with what you said that the Internet is increasingly being one of the main advertising sources on existence.

And although being a noob myself, I firmly stand by my own words when I state that Internet Marketing is going only to increase.

But there's a important issue that must be addressed, despite the obvious growth of the Internet as a business plataform, I believe that the ability for a noob, like myself, to take part in it and be able to make a living out of Internet Marketing is becoming increasingly more difficult.

Perhaps it is just my lack of knowledge about the subject, but I've personally invested my time on the Internet for over 4 months, and my returns are less than $100, I'm not crying out for advice or anything of the sort, my point is exactly that, someone without expertise or a very specific set of skills, will never be able to make a living online.

I consider myself as a fairly creative and intelligent person, I have a good understanding of the Internet from a user perspective, yet, when it comes to implementing methods that I see shared here or elsewhere with titles like "make $50 a day doing this" "make $300 a week doing that", and I implement them to the letter, I hardly get a return on my invested time.

My sincere opinion is that Internet Marketing is striving for companies, but it just doesn't exist for the individual who wants to try out his entrepreneurial luck.

This is my opinion based on my own personal experience, I might be wrong in my assessment or failing to grasp something fundamental, but the bottom line is that Internet Marketing is definetely extremely difficult for some people.

I understand you are having some difficulty, but the reality is that the internet is actually the best place for an entrepreneurial individual. There is no other business out there where you can get started with about $20 or even for free and get started right away.

It's not easy in the sense that money will just come to you overnight, but it is easier than any other 9-5 job that I know of.

It's not easy in the sense that money will just come to you, but it is easier than any other 9-5 job that I know of.
I acknowledge the uniqueness of the internet as a business plataform, and truth be told, when I read some of these methods like the ones I just exemplified on the previous thread, they are really easy and accessible, as you've just said, but the truth is that they just do not work, again, speaking in my personal experience.

When you work on a 9-5 job, you are being paid to do a specific task, and you will always be paid a consistent amount for the execution of that particular task.

But as I currently understand it, when you do a "task" on the Internet, it can make you a couple thousand dollars in the beginning, and as time passes and more people begin to do it, it will just drop to the point where no single individual can make significant profit.

A mail man always receives the same amount despite of being only 10 or 10.000 mail man working.

This seems to be exactly the opposite on the Internet.

I agree with you when you say that Internet Marketing is easy, yes it is definetely easy to implement and even come up with these money making methods and business models, what it's hard is to actually make money from them, this, to me, seems to have more to do with luck than expertise, intelligence or skill.

This is a very common myth that unfortunately most people fall for. Yes, some methods do take some extra thinking and tweaking, but if a person is incapable of that, then they should not be trying anything entrepreneurial in nature.

Also, internet marketing has nothing to with luck and everything to do with intelligence and skills. There is really no such thing as luck in my book. To me, luck is really just timing + skill.

You could be right, surely you seem to have a considerable experience to talk about this, I was only sharing my opinion, and as all opinions, they cannot be factual, they are based on incomplete knowledge, which is most likely my case as a noob.

Perhaps the problem has something to do with the fact that there is just so much misinformation out there that a newcomer just doesn't know what exactly we should accept as truth and fact.

To me the study of Internet Marketing is just like understanding science in a world filled by religion, there is just so many contradictory information that most people just fall into the absurd of religion, when false information and correct information is shared around with the same amount of credibility, it really takes a special effort to see past all the absurd dogmatic information and accept only what is factual, perhaps this is the core of the problem when beginning to understand Internet business.

I think in every niche there are always less success people compared to failed ones...it's impossible for everyone to have success. For example, people usually only click the top three or five ranks in his keywords in Google...there can be only 3-5 success stories with thousands of competitors in every keyword. Same thing in real life business, you cant expect to make a new fast food restaurant and hoping everyone would come to you while at the same time they still eat at McD or KFC. In every business, competitions are always there. The bigger the potential is, the bigger the competition will be...

I saw a billboard yesterday: "Learn to hack in 15 minutes, teachmetohack.com" or something like that. Kinda sums up all the ignorance right there.
