Can anyone get free traffic to actually convert?

- yahoo answers

- youtube

- social bookmarking sites

- press release sites

I mean, I've tried them all and the conversion rates are VERY LOW (like close to none)...

Do you HAVE to PAY for traffic to make big money online?

What do ya think..

It's pretty well know that social network traffic in general is shit

Well yeah, but there are so many other free traffic sources. Just wondering if that traffic is converting for others here, b/c its not for me...

No.. you do not have to pay for traffic for it to convert well.

1: Is your traffic targeted?
2: What are you trying to drive traffic to?
3: You said you've tried Yahoo Answers, You Tube, Social Bookmarking Sites and Press Releases. About how many visits are you getting from this on average?

Give us a little more details and maybe we can help you out.

To answer you question though, free traffic converts very well if it's targeted and it depends on the niche. If you know how to target a hungry crowd and you send them in the right direction, they're going to eat.

I agree with coreygeer on this. It sounds like you TRIED a bunch of different tactics to get traffic, but may have failed to consider how your target audience thinks, what they want, and what they respond to.

I can tell you definitively that free traffic converts, as I've made over $7000 in the past two months on entirely free traffic. They key is to really think through your offers, and ask yourself questions like:

Who are my potential customers?
Where do they hang out?(online)
What do they want?
What motivates them?
If I was one of them, what would someone have to do to get me to take xyz action?

As coreygeer said, give us a little detail, and we can probably help you start to convert a little more in line with what you're looking for.

I wish you tremendous success. Don't give up. It took me two months to make my first dollar online, and that was five months ago. From 0/month to $3500+/month in four months is pretty good, but the early going can be maddening.

Lol... i paid for traffic and it was a worst experience for me :( Just have patience..

lol free traffic is the best. how can u make that statement.. its all about how targeted that traffic is. the more targeted u get the better the conversions. i do nothing but use free traffic to make moola online. im not a ppc marketer nor will i be.

free traffic is the best

Thanks guys for your responses...

Can you guys list some free traffic sources that ARE CONVERTING for you?

I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks again :-)

Sure, here are some that work for me:

Youtube
Yahoo Answers
Digg
Stumble
Twitter
Flickr
Ezinearticles
Craig's List
Blog n ping

Once again, if you are getting clicks, but not conversions, look at your offers and make sure you present them right.

If you aren't even getting clicks look at your offers and make sure you're presenting them right which means in the right places at the right times in the right ways.

All traffic sources can be made to convert (except bots maybe, but even then you can use bot traffic to boost traffic stats on your site and sell it for more $$ so even THAT can convert if you .... present the offer the right way.).

Article marketing, if you do it right. I have found that I get the most traffic from ezinearticles.com and associatedcontent.com, and it converts well.

Social bookmarking did not convert AT ALL for me.

What I did with the article marketing - I picked a clickbank topic in an area that I am familiar with, that was on the first page of its category. I created a Squidoo lens - yes, a Squidoo lens, because I have zero web design skills. I made sure that I put my affiliate link on the top, middle, and bottom of the lens and had a call to action on the lens as well. I talked about my experience with this product, why it works well, etc. - typical sales letter stuff.
I wrote a bunch of ezinearticles and linked to the squidoo lens. For most of the articles that I wrote, I made a sale for each article.
If you want more details, please feel free to message me or ask me here on this thread.
Also - I wrote a ton of articles to get traffic to my adsense site. It's now a PR3 and I make anywhere from $2-$23 a day from it. ($23 is a VERY good day.) I don't know that i would ever do that again, though, because the amount of time versus how much I'm making isn't really a good trade off. I feel like affiliate marketing has more potential.

Also - as far as press release services - I don't know that I would use them for anything but getting backlinks. I've yet to see anyone on any forum say they made lots of sales from press release services.

As for paying for traffic - I've only paid for PPC briefly and I'm no expert but I do know this - if your free traffic isn't converting, you most likely need to fix your landing page/offer/whatever is wrong, because the paid traffic probably won't convert either.

Do you want to put a link on here to your landing page so we can take a look at it and offer suggestions?
