I'm a semi-serious photographer....getting listed in iStockphoto is TOUGH...they have VERY strict standards.....just a FYI

Yu can't legally take another photo and use it. You will lose your account their and potentially have legal issues. When you sign up and send a photo, you HAVE to agree that you TOOK the photo, not just modified it.

This may seem like a truly retarded question. But just thinking out loud here...

Say I find a super high-res photo that I like online. I decide to save it to my hard-drive, but instead of saving it directly, via "save target as", I decide to screen-capture it.

Wouldn't that legally be a picture "I took"???

No, I don't think you would get away with that.

If you photocopy a book it doesn't mean you wrote it.
If you rip a CD to your HD and burn it again it doesn't mean you made that CD.

A lot of photosites have a copyright notice.
Now let's say you took a pic from a site that hasn't got it.
ISPhoto is very strict so I guess with any doubt about your copyright they will kick you.

But nice thinking. Keep sharing your thoughts about it.

After checking the site,i immediately sent PM to getjimmy on DP to ask about the website,he told it is not his website nor website of guy he sold rights,he said guy will open new thread next week.So this site is another rip off.

I was also thinking that site is another scam. This is not the same guy getjimmy sold his book

Because The site owner earned $4400 (screenshot)
Now going to sell 8 copies for $397 so its like $3176

So total he is going to make $4400+3176= $7576

But getjimmy sold his book for $7000 ..So the profit is only 576$

Can you be sure that he won't sell more than 8 copies? It will take less than a minute to make that crap looking sales page.
