Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
I have to say, I don't think I've ever seen such genuine camaraderie on any forum in my years online. Seriously! I'm rooting for you Montyz.. I'm just about in the same boat as you, but If I can help in any way, feel free to PM me.

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Monty,
Just wanted to say good luck! I lost my day job last year and have been in the same situation you are in, i.e. sifting through the mountains of ebook data, programs, indecision, confusion and procrastination.
Being in the same situation as you, literally... I have a wife and three children... my first piece of advice is this. Talk some more to your wife. It is great to have teamwork here on the forum and on the internet, but in the long run it is better to have teamwork at home. The prospect of a husband bringing in NO money is one of the scariest things a woman can face. It affects every piece of a wife to think she and her children may not be provided for.
It sounds like such a cliche but many times what you get is something like:
Wife needs dependability and proof of nurture to feel secure VS. Husband needs feeling of freedom and personal accomplishment to feel alive...
Let her know that providing for the family IS THE MOST IMPORTANT thing for you. That this is all about doing that better, BECAUSE you love them. And really let her know how you feel inside, and what is driving you to do this. Work it so she can be your strongest ally.
I know I am coming off as a Black Hat Forum Dr. Phil... but I speak from experience. IF it is about a J-O-B to her than she may be secretly (or not so secretly) wishing for your failure so she can keep the household together (which is a GOOD thing... keeping the family from being homeless, not your failure
).
It is hard enough to work to start a business (there are alot of economic and social forces against you) without working way late at night, wishing you were sleeping, knowing your wife can not stand behind what you are doing and fighting that resentment.
On the other hand, it is alot easier to accomplish anything when your wife is there to cheer you on and support you. Nothing helps more when writing, then when I want to give up and a friendly hand sits on my shoulder, a familiar voice gives me some minor cheer leading and a loving smile asks me if she can get me a coffee or something. It can remind me why I am even trying any of this craziness, and gives me purpose and hope to succeed beyond my personal desire.
I don't have the skills that others have here... but I have been where you are . PM me if you need some emotional back-up
Next, here is some more concrete help for you. If you are going to accomplish this you will probably need some good time management skills (forgive me if you know this... I just know it helps).
I suggest one of two options (or both)
Listen to and read
Code:
Jimmy D. Brown's Six Figure Formula
hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?bxyjl4mm39n
You don't have to follow his exact methods, but he does an excellent job of showing you how to set up your work day schedule and plan out you week for the greatest effectiveness. It includes a number of printed schedule sheets to plan your time efficiently. Go through it and think about how you spend your time in relation to what actually gets the job done.
Second (though I'm sure many here would think it worthless) I got alot out of using
Code:
Mark Joyner's Simpleology course www.simpleology.com
to set up my goals and plan from a day to day basis. It really only takes 15-20 minutes to plan out a time saving successful day if you start with the end in mind.
Lastly... If you don't meet your goal... just because you don't reach your goal in 30 days, does not mean you failed. The most important goals are those we must bring ourselves up against over and over and over. Do not give up over a single loss. Don't forget, it is all a learning experience.
Let your new personal motto be:
DUM SPIRO, SPERO! --- While I breathe, I hope!
Good Luck, God Bless!

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
@ jcash - Thanks, my friend.
@ 1000eyecrow - Fortunately, my wife is now with me on this. It's a little scary for her not really understanding how all of this works, where the income comes from, and how we're going to have medical benefits, but I think she will come around once things pick up even more. I'm not exactly starting from scratch.
Thanks!

Olden, I can't find your Meta-Marketing thread now but I just finished reading it. Holy crap. I've read "Niche Marketing on Crack", but that was like "Niche Marketing on Heroin"!
Awesome job, my friend.

Haha, I was just about to write how this will make one hell of
an ebook.
I'm so down for promoting that and helping create it.
It will be the first of its kind to actually be real and documented.

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
"Yes, barsha, but this course of action will force me to face my own worst enemy...my attention span.
Yes, the program you mentioned is awesome. In order to make money with it, though, I must stick to it and not hit the "New Posts" button every 2 hours to see what great tactic I can employ next.
Like most of us, I am guilty of hopping from thing to thing, downloading e-books and programs and saying "I will have to read that tomorrow"...or the next day, or the next day.
So this is a challenge to myself to put to use all the tools I have acquired over the last 9 months (especially the last 2 months, really) and STICK WITH THE PROGRAM.
I know it might sound easy, "Hey, Chris, just stick with Domination, make a pile of money, then just quit your job."
But we're talking about me, my wife, my three kids, and then suddenly not having my awesome work health benefits, my automatic 401K contributions...it's some pretty scary shit if you stop and think about it too long.
It's about focus and it's about overcoming your fear."
---------------------------------------
With all due respect Montyz but the way the CPA domination program was sold to me was that any newbie can do it (noob proof) plus it takes less than 4 hours a day to get anywhere from 1000-3000 a day (numbers might be a bit off) so my question remains: if someone is going to tell you all you'll need to do is concentrate 4 hours per day and you can make up to 3000 or more for those 4 hours why not just set aside 4 hours PER week and you'll set. Are you telling me that you can't put in 4 hours per week for those financial results? If you don't have the time nor ability to focus in doing this then exactly how much time and attention can you afford each week? what i'm having trouble with is that the cpa program is guaranteed to make you at least 5000 per week (number can be off) and only 4 hours daily so if someone was to give me this program and i've reviewed it and agree that this is all valid, i'll leave my day job in a heart beat.
sorry to slow the momentum of this rah rah thread ...

You blog has been stumbled, twittered, pownced, digged, and onlywired by yours truly... The least I can do is add a couple backlinks... a little web 2.0 can't hurt from anyone who cares to help

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
lol, crow. Thanks.
Vivian,
I appreciate your view-point, but you don't know me too well. I've been handed a few golden tickets in my day.
Then the realization kicks in...."Oh, you mean I have to build this, and setup that, and compile this, and code that, and bid on these clicks, and tweak that, and then review your stats and remove the bids that have this ratio, etc, etc. OK, you know what, I think I'll pass."
Yes, a computer newbie can do the program....very easily. Still there is a proper way to set it up that ensures long-term stability. It also requires a little business know-how. I don't know about you, but I've never been self-employed in my life, let alone actually HIRE someone. Sure, you can find someone on Craigs or eLance but it's still intimidating if you've never done it.
So let's see if I can stick with that along with one or two other projects I'm working on that should get me there.
Unless, of course, you're referring to that system's 'affiliate program'. That seems to be the real 'mystery income' program around here.

smitty & entity,
That's a hell of an idea. We'll have to have a sidebar on that topic.
Look at all these signatures! I'm starting to feel like this is "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".
Was it "Save Ferris!" that everyone was going around saying?

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Monty, I have no skills to help you but do any of your CPA programs pay when someone signs up for a trial period? If so, a bunch of us can sign up for the trial and then cancel if we wish to help you out with some cashflow if it's a little tight.
"Only an idiot quotes themselves in their signature." - Me ... DOH!

Hey, I appreciate that but I that's more of a short-term tactic than a long-term business model.
Besides, I'm actually trying to keep my CPA companies HAPPY these days...lol.

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Hey monty, how about you add pages to your blog that are product reviews. Then everybody here can chip in a blog review or some social book marking voting to kick start the traffic and the SE rankings. You can make steady income with product reviews. If you don't believe me, then don't. I don't care. But it can work out to steady income.
It's also a good idea if the products you choose are subscription-based so they're more likely to build into more residual income.
-
-
Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Actually, I do believe you. That's a great idea. I've just started promoting some subscription-based products and that's a real winner.
We should get with pofecker and have him add some pages like that to the site.

That's a sick idea, taking everything that was accomplished and in real time would have a ton of appeal to people looking for a 1-2-3 approach to quitting their J.O.B

The Green Star is a good omen. I read it in a fortune cookie or some noise.
Also, it's a really fucking funny coincidence that by a completely random string of events I pledged last year that I wouldn't quit my job until July 18th, which is 2 days short of your goal. Race ya?

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
This is def something i'm gonna keep an eye on
I like your blog layout, nice and clean, altho the countdown clock on the top looks a little 'chaotic'
Nonetheless it is a good looking blog and i like your writing-style
If i can help you out with anything, holla at me and i'll be happy to help!
Keep up the good work bro

That isnt your day job is it?

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Hey Monty, you will get there bro, just read your blog and it is really inspiring. just by reading your post
"I’ve decided that my biggest obstacle is the same obstacle that every one of us faces….MYSELF."
Nothing further from the truth!!!! Now, I want my wife to leave her day job since I have done it already. Good luck to you my fellow BH friend!

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Good luck, Monty!
I'll add your site to my links.

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Monty, besides the fact that the guy in there looks a little displaced,
i think that the text is also somewhat disturbing =/
It would look a lot better if the countdown was on the bottom of the box,
so that the numbers wouldn't cover the guy's head
Also, i think that moving the countdown code to the left corner (of your blog),
would make it more appealing and look like a logo!
Oh and i would put the blog's name and tagline a little lower,
making it look less like it was glued to the top
Just my .02

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Your gonna make it.
You need to get your wife involved, like I got mine involved.
Pfft, outsource to India, outsource to your wife, it keeps her busy and out of stores! Thus saving you even more money.

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Chris, it's been a while since I've been to BHW, but all the best to you buddy and I'm really rootin for you to make this work. As you know, I am pretty much in the same boat as you (with one less kid), a "decent" job that pays the bills and has awesome benefits and bonuses. I've luckily got an understanding wife, and am so thankful that she's behind me (somewhat).
I like you HATE my job though, and will pretty much do anything to get out. I've been spending most of my time focusing on my campaigns, where I've been netting about $75-$100 per day, although that's not nearly enough for me to quit. I've had heated arguements with the wife as well, I almost quit last week because I had such a shitty day, but all I can do is keep plugging away on this stuff until I hit the big one.
So you are my ambassador to quitting the day job. If you do this in your 30 day period, you will truly be an inspiration to me and many other suckas that need to get out of the rat race.
Cheers Bro, I'll keep my eye on your thread and blog. Also, let me know if you need anything, I can do some graphics stuff for you in my spare time if needed.

Re: Monty's 30 Day Challenge
Thanks, everyone. I'm chugging along, slowly but surely.
@Droppin Loads
I'm right there with you, bro. I absolutely HATE my job. The mortgage industry has hit rock bottom. In fact, my ONE loan that was supposed to close this month just fell through on Friday....so ZERO income for my family this month, except for what I'm doing online.
I'm hanging tough, although my instinct is to panic and go get a job, I'm sticking it out. Having some pretty good days and getting a little better as we go.
