I posted this in another thread in response to someone saying that even after months of work they are still unable to make money. He basically said that he had tried all these different methods and nothing was working and he wanted to know why nothing was working.

Congratulations, you're learning that 99% of the IM world is bullshit.

People sell "ebooks", WSOs, and other shit that doesn't work (think about it. If they worked, they would be using them themselves, not selling the info to saturate the market). It's basic supply and demand. If I have a method that makes me $1000 per day, I'm going to use it and make $1000 a day. I'm not going to give it away and have competition that is going to take away some of my $1000 per day. Yet how many threads do you see on all the IM forums that say "EASY $1000 per day method!!!!! Click here!!" It's all bullshit. The poster just wants some e-cred, or is speaking hypothetically. Sure, you could make $1000 per day, but you're not going to.

Not only that, but 99% of the time the "ebook" or whatever is written so poorly that there is no information to be gleaned from it, anyway. It's a "feel good", "empowering" book that makes you "feel" like you can go out and own the world, but you weren't even actually given any concrete examples so you're still fucked. I can tell you "build a high ranking page and sell affiliate products, promote your site with articles, choose affiliate products with high conversions, etc." and you think that you are getting good advice, but you're really not. Do you know how to do any of that stuff, or is it just all high-level semi-specific bullshit? Do you know how to make your page rank well? I mean, I just told you to do it, but I didn't tell you how to do it. Tricky, right? Of course, the next 50 pages in the ebook are talking about all the money, mansions, and chicks you will get when you are making $500 a day without doing any real work at all, so you end up feeling good about it even though a week, a month, a year from now you still won't have made any money.

Internet marketing is exactly like day trading. The people who sell methods are not profitable. The people who ARE successful guard their methods with their lives. They sure as shit do not give them away for $37 to the first 10 people and $57 to everyone after that.


Decide what you want to do.

Do you want to make money from adsense? If so, you'll need to create a GOOD QUALITY website with good content and then get visitors. The best way to get visitors is to get a good search ranking. There are two ways to make money with adsense 1) develop a website that gets huge and makes a lot of money (for example, stevepavlina.com, or 2) develop MANY websites that each make a little bit (for example, 1,000 sites that each make $0.50 per day)

Do you want to make money selling affiliate products? Find good products and then get people to buy through your affiliate link. How do you do this? You can make review sites (but most of them are hella scammy so be a little creative). But then you need visitors to your review sites in order to click your affiliate links. How do you get visitors? You can buy ads (make sure you're not spending more than you're making) or you can get a good Google rank.

Do you want to make money selling proprietary products? Write some software. Sell it. Write a book. Sell it in physical form so people don't steal it and put it on toerrent sites. The only people who will pay money for a physical book are people who are serious about the subject and they only buy from authorities, so if you're not a nerd or geek about some subject matter, this probably won't work for you. You know how 99% of ebooks are worthless shit for the reasons I discussed in my previous post in this thread? That's not going to fly for a physical book.

Do you want to make money providing services? Pick a service. What are you good at? Can you write well? Or does your writing sound like ESL crap? Find a place to advertise. What do people NEED? Once you establish that you are good at something, slowly increase your prices. No one is gonna pay $100 per article from a noob.


Try different things. You may fail your first few times. I spent some time making review sites to sell affiliate products but even to this day I've never sold a single one. I just figure that's not for me, so I moved on to other avenues and now I make money.

Also keep this in mind:

99% of people lie.

99% of people on IM forums are lying about what they do, how they do it, and how much they make. I absolutely guarantee that.

The bottom line, same as with anything, is don't take advice from people who bullshit around. If you ask questions and get vague answers, they're probably bullshitting. Have a question? Get a specific answer. If you ask "how do I do [such and such]?" And the answer isn't specific, then either the person helping you is just messing with you or doesn't really know the answer or doesn't want to give you the answer. Do you have time to waste doing that? I know I don't. Put them on your Ignore List and move on. This goes TRIPLE if you're paying for information. If I pay for info I expect absolutely technical, no room for interpretation, no bullshit, no hippie crap, absolutely specific information about EXACTLY whatever the subject matter is. "First do [this], then do [that]. Do them specifically this way. Here are diagrams, charts, and examples." Don't settle for bullshit like "Imagine how much MONEY you will have once you do [this] and [that]. WOMEN will want to FUCK YOU. You can QUIT YOUR JOB!" No, that's not information that you pay for, that's bullshit, and sadly, that's what most of the IM world is. Idiots sell bullshit to other idiots. There's even a step-by-step thread on this forum about exactly HOW to do it.

90% of the threads on IM forums are worthless. They're e-pissing contests. It's like:

Question: "Which ad placement position is better for my website?"
Answer: "Fuck you I make $500 per day and I'll only answer your question if you pay me $200!!"

The remaining 10% of threads vary between "mostly worthless" and "somewhat decent."

There's not much that you don't already know. Hell, I gave you FOUR ways to make money in this thread, step by step. They weren't super specific, but you now have a framework for what you need to do. Attack each step logically, ask the right questions. What do you need to know? Why? Are you creating a website? Why? Do you have questions about how to do that? What specifically? "How do I make a website?" is not a question. "Which of the following hosting plans is better, based on your experience?" is a question. Are you choosing an affiliate product? Why? What information should you use when choosing? Why?


Quantify everything.

You said your iPhone blog failed. Why did it fail? What aspects of it failed? Did you not complete the site? Did it not look the way you wanted it to? Did you not get the traffic you needed? Why? Did you not get good Google rankings? Did your adwords account get banned? How was it monetized? Why? How many visitors converted? Do you know? Are you keeping track of this stuff? How old was the site? How much content did you have on it? What was its purpose?

That stuff you said you posted on torrent sites, are you talking about PPI stuff? If so, please ignore my posts because you're the scum of the internet. (PPI = pay per install = putting malware in programs that people download and uploading them to torrents. It used to be profitable but you had to deal with the moral consequences of ruining other people's computers).

Keep records. Know why stuff failed.

Most importantly, learn that IM is not easy like all the eBooks and online "gurus" say it is.

I like your style man. That is the truth. Another word of advice. When you find something that works don't try to expand on different Ideas. Keep expanding the idea that works. If your making money on adsense, ignore the shiny things on forums like this. If you see somone telling you about the next great way to make money via CPA ignore it. You have already figured out how to make money on adsense, go with it and make it work. That is personally one of the biggest lessons I have learned.

Mostly true... but there are working methods of making money, and people in BHW are truely giving it away. You just need to make it work for you. I don't want to say some of those methods makes me rich, but I learned new ways of getting money and now I have a higher knowledge about different things then before, and there will be a point where this knowledge WILL help me make (more) money.

Yet there are 100+ ebooks out there that are like 50 pages long, yet all they really tell you is "build niche websites and sell affiliate products." The other 49.9 pages are full of bullshit feel-good fluff. So after you read that, did you know how to do those things? Let's examine a brief list of the knowledge that is actually required in order to "build niche websites and sell affiliate products."

- You have to know what a niche is
- You have to know how to identify low competition/high profit niches
- You have to understand why high competition niches may not work as well

---(up through this point, if you don't understand those 3 things, you're likely to choose the wrong niche and even if you do everything else perfectly, you will still fail)---

- You have to know what affiliate sales is
- You have to know how to build a website
--- You have to understand the various hosting options (free, paid, shared, etc.)
- You have to know how to get an affiliate account
- You have to learn how to build your own hoplink (or whatever they're calling them now
- You have to know if any type of masking/cloaking is required
--- If so, you have to know what cloaking is
--- If so, you have to know how to cloak
--- If so, you have to know if cloaking violates the TOS of your affiliate

---(so now you have a website with your affiliate links in place. Did you make $1,000,000 yet? Of course not. What good is a website without traffic)---

- You have to know how to write effective sales copy (hint: it's not by outsourcing to ESL people "You should can and buy of this product because the best is why it is good" is not going to sell shit to anyone)
- You have to know how to get traffic
--- There are different ways of getting traffic. Do you want to buy traffic (mostly useless), do you want to use adwords to get traffic (don't spend more than you make!), or do you want to do SEO and get to the #1 spot in Google? (which I could write a 400 page book on that subject alone))
- About 100 other bullet points about getting traffic

So now, if you picked a good niche and if you picked a good product and if your sales copy isn't ESL drivel and if you get traffic and if a good percentage of traffic converts and if you didn't spend more on advertising than you're making from sales, then you might actually start making money online.

That is, if you didn't fuck up somewhere along the way by following some bad advice on the forums and getting your account banned or your site blacklisted or deindexed or sandboxed or labeled as spam or any of the things that can go wrong if you blindly follow morons who don't know what they're talking about.

So if you paid for a book and all it told you was "build niche websites and sell affiliate products" and it didn't go into specific detail about everything I've listed above, at the bare fucking minimum, then you probably got ripped off because shit, just come here and I would've told you for free "build niche websites and sell affiliate products." PM me for my PayPal address

You also see that shit in the forums. Someone asks a specific question and gets a general vague bullshit answer. Do you know WHY? It's because either 1) the guy doesn't want to share, or, more likely 2) he's just bullshitting you by pretending to be a guru. Ignore List (again, where is the IL feature on this forum software?).


If I want to FEEL GOOD I'll go read a Tony Robbins book. Feeling good will not make you money in IM. Objective knowledge will. The last time I built a profitable website, I didn't open up my editor and tell it how good I felt and how much money I was going to make and how I was going to tell my boss to fuck off and how I was going to fuck supermodels on my yacht; I had to enter html code (objective knowledge) in order for it to work.

You wanna know why?

Here's why:

1) Because the original poster didn't make any money doing it (as evidenced by the fact that he is sharing it, see above where profitable methods are NOT shared)

I started making money online when I STOPPED trying all the bullshit that I found in forums. I came up with my own ideas, and I'm sure as fuck not going to share them, and they're working decently. Do you want to know why I'm not going to share them? Because I HATE competition. So I'm definitely not going to teach people how to steal my market share. More competitors = I make less money = I don't live as well = why the fuck would I want that to happen???

The other thing I don't get is why people are so gung-ho over these "Make $20 per day!" methods. $20 per day? Really? That's less than I made per hour at my last corporate job. (Maybe these people live in countries where $20 is a lot, however).

But the funniest part is it's not like they're all scalable, it's like "make $20 per day but it's going to take you 8 hours."

I know all about scalability. One $20 per day method times 100 = $2,000 per day. But if that one method is taking you 8 hours, you're not going to be able to scale it. But hey, let's all get fucking excited over a $20 per day method thread. zomg!!!!

I've been in this business since late 04/early 05 and I've met two people on this very forum in the last month that are immensely successful in industries that honestly shocked the hell out of me because they are so far removed from the typical e-whoring, adsense autoblogging n00bs that are all over the place here.

Keep applying the 80/20 rule and trimming that fat. You're NEVER going to find a fat margin right off the bat. You find a thin edge and you carve it down until it's fat.

Now, I realize that sounds vague. And it may not make a whole lot of sense to someone just learning this game since it's a much more obtuse concept than all the other stuff you're learning.

But basically it all comes down to finding a way to make a few bucks a day and scale, scale, scale as much as you can. And then scale some more.

I entered a niche 2 years ago that I thought MIGHT make me $500 or so a month. Now I'm consistently netting 4 figures per week with it and currently expanding my marketing efforts to ramp it up considerably. I'm not patting myself on the back, but to those guys that are trying to tackle 1,000 "micro-niche" blogs or whatever to make a nickel apiece from per day, why not completely OWN several micro-niches or one niche and carve out a bonafide living from it? It's much easier after a while to let something run under its own steam than to try to constantly push 1,000 tiny snowballs up a hill each and every day.

Now think this way, I am sure you have read 100's of ebook on promoting ClickBank products with google adwords PPC.

The FACT is people are making fortune using PPC -> CB however you may or you may not be doing so.

So, it is 100% possible that product creator is making $1000 a day with that system however you have just lost $100 in PPC and YOU quit, then you'll say that 'method' don't work.


I'll tell you, atleast 90% of ebooks i have read (doesn't matter who wrote it) WORKS, Because I WORKS.

Because, i was noob 2 years back and now what ever i am earning it's just after reading those Guru's ebooks.

In 2007 end, i read "Domainintodollars" ebook and then started my career as domain er.

Then, with few months of profits with domains, i started ebook selling on ebay using one of the ebook by John Thornhill.

By now my profits were doubled. I have achieved just $2K bench mark, may be little for you but for me, that time it was some thing no one can believe.

After that, i put my knowledge in form of ebook on "How i used ebay to sell domains and ebooks" together, i have put the pure knowledge in it which worked for me. It sold for $9.97 only and i am sure only 1% of people replicated the system coz rest 99% of people are the one who quit as they feel ebooks are shitty, rehashed stuff. But those who followed are now powersellers on ebay.


eBooks are the source of knowledge. If i make $10,000 a month by something (like PPC tp CPA) then why not i compile an ebook for $100 and sell 100 copies for another $10,000, this helped me to RAISE capital to my PPC campaigns and helped another 1% people (coz 99% again won't do anything of it) then how can this create competition, as i have shared the 'SYSTEM' not my business.

This thread has not only hit the nail on the head about what IM is but it should open the eyes of all the lazy sitting around here looking for the magic money button. You see it posted a million times throughout this forum TAKE ACTION and Think outside the box.

What you see here is everyone reading the same crap and trying the same methods until they become so saturated no one can make any money. Take craigslist for example, they have implemented so many security measures that it makes it almost impossible for the average user to post. Also gmail they have implemented txt verification for creating new accounts. Why? because we all have used and abused them at one point or another.

Granted it is a blackhat forum and most of the methods posted here are hit and run methods. They are not ment for long term profitability. If you want to make long term money that lasts go back to the top of this post and reread the what the op has wrote. It is your money button, not an easy one but it is what is going to make you money.

It is vague but if you take a look around, there is bits and peices of information that will bring it all together for you. Nich markets, affiliate products, keyword research, building sites / landing pages and ranking in google.

I must say tho, I did laugh my ass off at just about this whole thread. Hype, fluff and bullshit gurus. We dont know the names of the real gurus.

This also goes on what the OP stated, if you are making $10,000 monthly then why do you need to RAISE capital for your ppc campaigns? Maybe because the ebook you released gave your competition the edge they needed and cause you to spend more money on PPC. If you are making that kind of money with your methods then you do not release them because you will inturn shove your foot in your mouth. IE having to spend more money on PPC. That is why the real gurus dont sell you their real money making methods. You might be the 1% that releases a real ebook.

I can't give away what i do, but it's not any of the things you see mentioned on here. I don't sell affiliate stuff, I don't do CPA, etc.

You know how everyone always says "find niches that aren't saturated?" Well, you have to find ways of making money that aren't saturated.

For example, EZA is full of shitty articles promoting shitty CB products. But none of those people are making any money. So you could try that same thing, but you probably wouldn't make any money either.

And then you could get pissed, and write 100 more articles promoting 100 more shitty CB products, and still not make any money.

Or you could try and come up with something new that no one is talking about and that isn't a saturated market.

I know I'm not being specific, but like I said, I can't give away my secrets.

That being said, sometimes some time away will help you clear your mind. I used to spend 12+ hours a day reading forums and researching things, but I often had my best ideas when I would take a few days off and let my subconscious mind process everything.

I agree with OP, however whether or not carson is a bullshit artist, his statement that a token amount of customers will take action on the solid IM programs sold is true. And believe me, some of the programs aren't bullshit, however most are.
