Would I be able to rank for a page that has 3,250,000 competiting pages?
Hello everyone.
Here are some of the details of the competition :
3,250,000 competing pages in quotes
Allintitle results = 458,000 pages
The first pages are all internal pages from sites like cnet and others.
The avg. number of backlinks that each page has is 40. The best having only 100 and the worst having 2.
The term gets searched almost 1800 time DAILY so If I can crack this up, I'll be able to make tons of money
I need some expert help in here

It would be even more possible if the top web pages suck and OP can create better websites than them (content included).

I mean if I setup only a 1 page site for that speicific keyword. Include it in my domain name and the article heading and in the body 3-4 times and then build powerful links to it.
Would I be able to outrank these sites in a week? Building 20 links a day i.e 140 inlinks in a week and the #1 site has only 100 something links?

If you are going to want to be on top, you will need to be a whole lot more aggressive than that! You will need to really go above and beyond what your competition is doing and it sure is a lot more than a 140 backlinks.

@ni99a : can you elaborate please? I don't want to go too fast because I don't want to raise google's red flag.
The average PR of their backlinks is 0. Only 2-3 links on average(all the pages) come from high PR sites

Dont grow the link number to fast, if you want to rank on medium/long term.
Google manual reviews exist (Search quality staff) and aply to this kind of keywords.

Before trying to rank, determine how well targeted the keyword is for your product(s). If the keyword is not targeted well, you will just be burning bandwidth. I suggest instead of aiming for this one keyword that gets 1800 daily searches, aim for several keyword phrases that are highly targetted and get a combined search rate of 1800 searches per day. It will be easier, you will get your traffic quicker with less effort, and you will be much more targeted so a higher conversion rate that will result in much more money.

Agree,
Search for the "buying keywords" and dominate all "long tail keywords" with the buy expressions.
Remember is better have only 50/visits day that convert than 500 untarget visits.

Re: Would I be able to rank for a page that has 3,250,000 competiting pages?
Actually this is quite possible. I have managed to get to number 2 for a keyword that has 2.5 million competing sites within 8 months and rank very well for a range of other related words.
After studying may SEO books and reading a lot of work by so called SEO gurus, I am convinced that the best way forward would bea combination of quality content on the actual website and also quality back links.
This is not that hard to achieve. What I generally do is publish 4-5 articles on Ezine per month and also try and add a good amount of blog posts, that have very good internal linking to a blog hosted on the same site.
I have tried to use Angela's and Paul's link but I do not really find much value in this type of account creation ( for long term benefit anyway). Instead concentrate on forum posting.
The great thing with forum posting is that you also get 'link juice' from the actual post. Also throw in some book marking of the forum posts and the articles
and you should be able to get the ranking you are after.
Tools I use are IBP for checking and analysing mine and my competitors site. I also make use of power article rewriter. Both tools are available on this forum.
Please let me know if I can be of any further help.
John.

If you are asking, then you are not ready yet. Focus on something easier and do this as a side project!
