If you are going 100% whitehat, you might be ok with godaddy, as you won't really have anything to worry about with them. Unless of course they decide to screw you on a whim, which happens from time to time. But they definately have all the features you are looking for there.
Namecheap is also good from what I've gathered. I've never used them, but alot of people swear by em.

Re: Best domain name registrar for 100% white hat sites?
I have hundreds of domains with 5 registrars.
1and1
GoDaddy
Namecheap
IPower
Netfirms
IMO, the best value: pricing, customer service, easy to manage >>> Namecheap
Never had a problem with them and very professional.
And if you decide to go with them, use this coupon " AUTUMNLEAVES ", it will bring down the cost to $8.81 including whois privacy.

Ya. i would say go with NameCheap. Never had any problem with them. Free Whois Guard on 1st year.
for price i think you can get some coupon codes to get domains for $8.81 (not sure if its still available).

You are right, namecheap is great for white hat purposes.

I used to use NameCheap.com religiously, but after an incident with their sub par support I no longer use them. I switched to Name.com and ever since they have always been great to me + Free Private Whois!

You got a whole bunch of suggestions already so I won't throw in mine (would be pretty much the same as most of the above ones) but:

Have to disagree. The gorilla-policies they have (such as the infamous "we hold your domain for 60 days after you dare to touch any of your whois info or transfer it" one and the "our domain privacy is actually so private that if you give us a call and want to know the name of the owner of a "private" domain, threatening us a little bit, we're glad to give you all the info" one) make it a pretty bad choice even if you're 100% whitehat.
Just my personal, unbiased opinion ...
(I had 150+ domains with GoDaddy when I ditched them and I'd been with them for 2 years+ by then so I know what I'm talking about btw.)

I'll cast a vote for NameCheap too. I've been using them for a couple of years now, and have never had a problem.

Another vote for name.com. If you catch them on certain fridays, you get .com's for $5.99 + free whois privacy, which beats namecheap. I have most of my domains on namecheap but I'm registering new ones with name.com.

I recommend that you try namecheap first. I've tried both companies, and while godaddy had slightly lower prices, with namecheap you get whois guard for free for a whole year. They are very reliable as well.
