    Ask yourself this.

Would it appear natural if your website received 0 nofollow links but 2,000 regular links?

    Not really.

So whether or not it has a huge effect on your rankings it definitely makes your website appear more natural so it'd be smart to utilize them!

Alright then, but what types of no-foll links are best then? Cause most HQ links I know of typically are DF.

    Sometimes guest posting.

    Some social bookmarking websites

    Wiki websites

    Press releases on occasion.

Typically if you start using every link source you'll get a healthy amount of nofollow and normal links

I wouldn't go out of my way to create nofollow tier 1 links, you'll get enough of those from just existing on the internet. I'm not saying they're not of value (they increase crawling and make your backlink portfolio more natural), it's just so many official resources tell us that Google completely discredits the anchor properties, PR and link juice of nofollow links so you shouldn't expect SERP movement from tier 1 nofollow links.

No-follow and do-follow links play a big part on you backlinks! Why?? because it is the ingredients to make your links look more natural. I have read this book that even if only do-follow links are the once that passes value, building follow links exclusively could set of red flags. I can share you this book at no obligation to you just pm so I can send you a copy. this could help you understand more about do-follow and no follow links.

Nofollow are useless & a waste of time. I guess some people want to mislead people by saying that nofollow is useful.

I think that the nofollow subject is one of the most covered subject by Google.

    https://support.google.com/webmaster...er/96569?hl=en

Essentially, using nofollow causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web. However, the target pages may still appear in our index if other sites link to them without using nofollow, or if the URLs are submitted to Google in a Sitemap.
