I just signed up last night, and thought I'd introduce myself.
I first got started with internet marketing last April, so it's been almost a year. Before then I knew NOTHING about it, even though I've worked in IT for about a decade (sys/network admin).
In the last year I've learned a ton. I've done the usual...buy the latest and greatest super-product, looking for the magic bullet. I made myself totally overwhelmed with information, to the point where I was so busy sorting through all the information that I wasn't actually DOING anything.
I'm too much of a perfectionist and a procrastinator, so it took me months to actually do much of anything. Also, I had internet marketing ADD. I bounced around from method to method, never sticking to one long enough to see real results.
I've really been trying to focus lately. And I'm seeing progress. I do have a long ways to go, however. My goal is to quit my job this year.
So far in 2009, I've had my first $1000 day. This was an isolated case, however. It was via a JV promotion. But it still felt AWESOME!
So, here's where I'm at now...I have a bunch of monetized sites created. None of them are getting traffic. That is what has brought me here.
I have over a dozen "conduit" style sites (per the Chris Rempel method). I have a few niche stores (dropship), and a couple of BANS sites (ebay niche stores). I have a few Wordpress blogs. And I have a handful of domains that I bought, planning on setting up some adsense sites, that are currently doing nothing.
So, I have a ton of content, or potential content. Now I need to get good traffic to them. I'm psyched that I found this forum, and I'm hoping that it will be a valuable resource. I'm also hoping, of course, to be helpful to others here.
