5 Freaks Sitting On a Fence!!!

Hi All, I'm new to all of this. Just wondering how I can increase traffic to a legitimate website. Meaning it's a registered business with the state. I read somewhere that fortune 500 companies participate in black techniques but they are ignored because they produce alot of revenues. Is there any truth to this? If there's any truth to this then I want to fight fire with fire.

OK from reading forums up until now I figured I need pseudo domain names with some sort of template creator and content generator. Than I need to redirect to my legit site.

Costs: purchase domains = 1.99US each or make up your own
register domains = 5.99 per year per domain
hosting dedicated server = 210USD per month
template generator/content generator = I'm guessing 70USD per month

more questions: Am I missing any costs?
Is there a right way and a wrong way to go about this?
How do I redirect?
I need to learn so much but is this a good plan to start with?
Any info I'm missing will be helpful to all of us noobs.

with a total of $280.00 you can receive traffic through ppc and not paying this kind of webhosting or template generator !

Vow, there are alot of things to consider.

$210 for hosting...hmm must be using Gatorhost.
Right out the bat if your a newbie I would suggest getting a VPS hosting plan which would only be $30-50 a month. Then once you have a lot of sites built up, ask your host to upgrade you to a dedicated.

You can find some good dedicated hosting for around $130 I myself have been looking at beachcomber.net or pacificrack.com/dedicated.html and they have specials on webhostingtalk.com just view the dedicated forum section.

I get my content for free or atleast part of it for Free. I'm not sure why you would want to pay $70 a month? Perhaps you can provide examples of what sites that you saw which were charging $70 a month?

Do you have any experience? Like owning a domain or designing a website? Just curious.

bibi: As a noob these are preliminary thoughts and plans that I think might be needed. You're absolutely right about using resources that will give a good ROI. Be frugal and spend only what's necessary.

Tom: I'm not trying to discourage anybody so keep on reading all the forums and info to get a grasp on things. That's just my own personal way of doing things. Some people might just jump into it and learn as they go. Whatever you decide is best for you.

Dave: Thanks for the advice, I've been doing some more reading throughout the forums and read somewhere that free hosting can be used. This seems to make more sense to me because some hosts might not like what you're doing and boot you if it's free it won't hurt as much. I guess there's other things to consider with free hosting like you probably don't have as much control and ads are placed on your pages but i guess it could be a good place to learn. The 70 bucks a month thing came from a service provided by one of the advertisers on this site. Notice the orange banner I tried contacting the dude who was pushing there product but I got no reply. It sounds like a great product but since I don't know my arse from my elbow about this stuff I remain skeptical. p.s. webhostingtalk.com is a great forum to learn about the servers and hosts that are right for you.

britt: I have no experience with programming. I plan on learning very basic server admin (linux), Mysql, Apache, php. I'm founder and creator (design only) of my own website and I realize how difficult it is to get users to sign up. It's like pulling teeth and I have no teeth left hence my reason to explore the darker side of things. My server set up is of the LAMP type. Linux, Apache, Mysql and php. WAIT A MINUTE! where am I going to find the time to learn all of this.
Reading all the forums is taking my time.

If I never go the darker route it's at least a good learning experience. Something everybody on the web should know about.
