I was thinking this morning about how to profit from something like the big storm that recently hit NY/NJ. Lots of trees falling down, so tree removal will be popular. Also if a tree fell on your house your going to need a contractor to get things fixed up. Flooding? You should call for a plumber and carpeting. How could I get these people to call my 800 #? Obviously CL, but where else can you reach people NOW? How can we set it up so that we can be ready to promote these services the next time disaster strikes?
Hey ..that is very good marketing .. You know what you are talking about...good. Offline..is the key.,people reading the newspaper rather a phone number over anything else... Start with one ad in the Sunday paper.. Using the knowledge you shared , you will have the best targeted "for sure" paid calls... You can also use event days to promote a targeted nich to advertise that weekend....
When you say ad in the newspaper are you talking about a 2-5 line classified ad in the 'professional services' section or an actual graphic that you create and send to them to print within the newspaper's content? When you do it are you advertising a specific niche like plumber, electrician, etc or just generic 'general contractor'?
I mean a simple text ad..printed on the Newspaper.. We have the "Miami Herald" big City paper...We also have what they call "The Flyer" that comes by mail once a week. I use specific info..like "Plumbers needed to bid for big and small jobs" "lots of work".... I get plumbers..for example calling Angieslist..and the Operator does the closing.. We get paid for the "Plumber" calling regardless if Angieslist recruits him as a paid member or not. Point is to not make your Newspaper ad give all the info...just write simple lines and convince the reader he will be bidding for lots of work.. This is an example for Angieslist PPC.
Maybe the newspapers here are different. Are you posting in the jobs section?
I post in Jobs...also "looking for service"..like I need a plumber type ad.. And depending what PPCall I wanna promote offline, I will study Prior to making newspaper ads... And this way ...you test what works and what doesn't.. Ever seen the same "damn" ad on the paper and ever wondered why you see that same ad? It's cause they are making money with that ad... Next time...study your Classified Newspaper section..and follow it.. You will see that in all sections..Employment, or service, you will find the same ads for weeks... Some are mine and yours...
thanks for the tips. my newspaper has a 'situations wanted' section that I'm going to give a try with this.
I just wanted to share this and get your guy's take... I placed two ads on CL for a test. Basically, "Plumber needed, both small and large jobs available. Please call to make a bid...877-xxx-xxxx." I got about 75 calls, one was from me on Friday. The guy that answered asked me right away if I found the ad on CL and seemed pissed off. I claimed "no" it was some site my brother found who is looking for work...blah blah. He told me all about the services, etc and I did get credit for the call. I am wondering, though, if this is perhaps the sign of eventually the restrictions they will probably put on? I am not really interested in doing any blackhat for this, I would prefer to just make a ton of money. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks! -eshera
I talked with the affiliate managers for 2 of the 'contractor' pay per call programs and they are not interested in getting calls from contractors to the phone numbers. They want the homeowners. You'll get paid for the calls from contractors, but eventually they will just cut you off if your not sending them quality callers that they are targeting. Some of the companies have separate affiliate programs for recruiting other contractors that you could look into. Some as much as $70 per signup. There is no 800 # though, you have to point them to your aff link.
Thank you WC...good looking out.
