I'm getting my feet wet in the adwords market.. I have experience in programming and such and have created some unique tools to gain an edge, but I'm missing some logic about how Black Hat marketing should work. For example...

I grasp the concept of looking for a general audience and find out what they were searching for through the http referer. I then direct link them to an affiliate link or landing page that might reference that keyword. What I'm missing is ...Ok I'm already bidding for that keyword so don't I already know what they are looking for essentially? So I'm missing the semantics of that concept, and it might be something I don't fully understand how adwords should work in the black hat world. Could anyone explain briefly?

Or 2 is the better approach to use any and all cheaper keywords I could find, that I know my target audience might be looking for? Say for instance women between the age of 18-50 buy my product... So I bid for keywords that group of people would be looking for...Like "I have cramps" or something. Then send them to my most highly optimized landing page, or best converting affiliate link for "ab rollers" as an example.

It might be that I should be combining both concepts together but I'm misunderstanding how I bid for keywords that I don't already know what the user will be searching for in the end. Any and all help is greatly appreciated..

It sounds to me like you havent' spent any time learning PPC. Go find some free PPC ebooks to learn the basics. There may be some on this forum.
