Some questions to Facebook Ads experts
Hi all,
I've got into Facebook Ads recently and have some questions for you.
I'm using CPC bidding and I know that for an ada to perform well I need a good CTR (from what I saw on the net a CTR > 0.1% is generally considered good, can you confirm this?)
My main problem is how to test many different ads without spending a lot of money: for example, I'm now running a campaign which consists of 21 different ads, and I want to see which one of these performs the best while spending the mininum amount possibile. So my main question is: after how many impression a I can get a reliable CTR stat?
Is there any tip you can give me about the best way to test many ads spending the minimum? Thanks!

Re: Some questions to Facebook Ads experts
If you are promoting email/zip submits then try to get ads in the range of 0.2% CTR or better. 0.2% is not too difficult, trust me. I have ads giving me 0.4% with a demo of 1,700,500.
If you dont get decent CTR within first 3k-4k impressions, dump the ad.
Why do you want to test that many ads if your budget is limited, start with 4-5 ads which you think might do well. Dump the non-performers quickly and add new ones.
Another thing I should add is - Dont drop bids too rapidly, that will hurt.
Keep questions coming, I will answer as many as I can.

That's nice. Another question is: are you redirecting user directly to the advertiser's landing page or first to your one? (I'm using the second approach, and I guess it's the best but I want to be sure)

Allright, so 3k impressions is enough in most cases. That was I wanted to hear. Also, yes, I'm gonna test ads in lower groups and see what happens.

What are you referring to? Sorry I'm new to this, I'm using the automatic bidding from Facebook which should lower my bid when my CTR increases right?
Last question, if you want to answer, what is the lowest CPC you managed to get?
Thank you very much for your time

1. Split test - Send 30 clicks direct and then send 30 via a landing page. Choose whichever option gives better return. And now, if landing page converted better, split test landing page elements - like call to action, headline, button colours and so on. And if direct linking converted better, then test more images and try to get lower bids. Also, you cant direct link CPA offers, so do bait and switch.
2. Yes, your bids will automatically get lower. But when you have an idea of your offer EPC, then you would most probably want to put a cap on cpc on FB, right ?

Thanks, you've been very useful. I guess I still have to find how to make ads with good CTR without having to test dozens, I'll need practice
