LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
hows'd it going people. Im here to show you what it takes, what you need, and how to become successful at paid advertising .Im super bored right now waiting for some ads to get approved soooo here's a little advice To be successful in paid advertising takes spending money with out getting emotional when you lose ..cause you WILL lose money thats part of the game. But what it really takes i believe is understanding what your looking at. Once you understand what a good ctr , a fair cpc , and a good cr% is you'll be on your way
.. this is a short simple guide to get sarted (for the n00b).
tools :
prosper 202 (track stats)
offervault (search for offers)
google keyword tool (research keyword competition and volume
hosting (host your lp's)
affiliate paying ( check reputation of cpa networks)
few domains (put our lp's on)
google, bing, facebook or other ppc networks ( buy traffic from)
quant cast (extra research)
how to pick an offer
when choosing an offer i use offervault and and look for offers that i feel have a good landing page , a fair enough commission, and is a reputable cpa company.. i open 10 -15 offers in different tabs , then hit up the AM's of the network ask the following questions
1) whats the network wide epc
2) what are the average conversion rates
3) whats the cap
4) demographics
5) and any extra info
once i find that the offer has a good epc, good cap , and a good conversion rate i will then use google keyword tool ..i'll first type related keywords and see how much traffic there is and competition..If the reach looks fair , and theres close to no competition, i'll set up a campaign
how i set up my campaigns
first i set up all my campaigns through prosper 202 which is a tracking software ..TRACKING IS 1 OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENTS TO BEING SUCCESSFUL WITH PPC!!!
then i'll go to the ad network (adwords for example) and use really broad keywords and load up as many keywords as i possibly can think of that are "VERY RELEVANT" to what im going to promote...also the Ad copy has to be very relevant
I'll let the campaign sit over night and set my daily spend to around $50
and see what kind of data i get,
what i look for?
cost per click , click through rate , impressions and clicks
if i see my cpc is very high and doesnt match what the AM told me about conversion rates i'll drop that keyword ... if my ctr is very high and the cpc is cheap i'll obviously keep it on deck , and if the clicks are there ..then were golden . all we have to do now is make sure our conversion rates are upto par!
now what we do is weed out all bad keywords and keep the ones that are pulling clicks at a cheap rate. (you may have to add more keywords if the keywords you are using dont convert)
now i will make around 2-5 diff ad copies and of the campaign just isnt doing well i'll scrap it and move on to the next ..
the more campaigns you set up the higher the chances your going to hit a golden nugget
Seriously DONT give up ..keep pulling through and you'll be happier then a monkey in a banana tree once your commissions start flowing in
so lets recap
1) pick an offer
2) research
3) set up tracking
4) set up ads
5) review data
6) weed out bad data
7) test tweak repeat
hope this helps ... i was super bored so take it or leave it idc lol

Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
How do you track affiliate links with prosper202? I don't understand like how do you add the prosper tracking code to the offer landing page? I know some networks you can add third party pixels, but what should I do if I wanted to promote a CJ program with ppc?

Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
sounds like a big help, thanks for sharing this to us mate.

Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
I don't understand one part....you said buy domains for LP's, but then it sounds like you are direct linking to offer LP's?? Or are you redirecting from the domains?
Do you have experience with CPV? I just started and need some help
-
-
Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
Good summary, that's how it works.
My bad that prosper202 doesn't work on WindowsVPS, I didn't wanted to use their online version and yeah, so I never started seriously with PPC, YET!
3) whats the cap
Whats the cap?
The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones.

simple follow the steps on "set up campaign" then generate your link now when a visitor goes to the new tracking link it will be tracked through proser ..also generate a pixel and give it to your AM to place for you so you can view conversions live

Whats the cap?
ppc is my way ...i prefer it over anything..once you understand it ..its simple really ..cap is the amount of leads you can send , sometimes advertiser put a cap on how many leads you can send ..then they pause the offer

They are AM's in commission junction? Have you ever tired this? Who do I contact in cj to send them the pixel? I once sent an email to the direct advertiser, but got no response.

could be several factors , targetting, bidding strategy , ad copy, lp , offer do some more research and set up more campaigns

Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
Hey Nightime14,
I have a moderate level of success, but nothing like those who are pulling in 100's or even 100's per day.
One of the CPA networks I'm using is Flux Ads. When you log in, they tell you the top converting offers and methods. For PPC the top 3 are Speed dating, Best Buy $500 gift card and our old time favorite $1000 Walmart card.
Are you making money with PPC and email / zip submits? You have to get $.02 clicks in order for these to work. Or are you making more on the $25 and up Payouts like, Credit Scores, Auto Insurance, Etc.

im doing both , yes cheaper clicks are better but whats key is conversions rate ..if you convert 1/5 email submits at $1.50 you could spend .20 cents per click and still make a profit

Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
also you should try different ad networks , i know people are hyped on Facebook which is one of my main sources of income , but there other networks like advertising.com ad mob , and bidvertiser...key is to find a traffic source with decent traffic and learn to convert the traffic "traffic + conversions = $$$" simple formula

How long do you test though? This is my issue... I have made money in campaigns but I have lost more from not knowing when to give it up.

well people like to go about this differently , some people throw 20 different ad copies test each one until they get it right which is a good way, but its time consuming and its a make or break. What i do is throw up a few keywords ..make 1-3 ads and if it flops i'll move on to another idea /offer ..chances are 1/10 times you'll find a good campaign ..but if you see a poor ctr , high cpc and little traffic it's best to move on

you can track EVERYTHING down to the keyword level , and if your tracking shows more conversion then the networks side you can send them a screen , but honestly you cant do shit its apart of the game just learn to accept it :/

Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
Hi Nightime14,
If you use adwords to advertise, what sort of landing pages do you make?
I know they are very strict in terms of landing page and will disapprove your ad for page bridge and so on.
Any tips on creating a site and/or a landing page that adwords wont have a problem with?
-
-
Re: LOOK! What you need to be successful in PPC
I'm also interested in how you're bypassing the bridge page issue. How exactly are you redirecting to your affiliate offer URL without Google noticing or caring?

How do you build landing pages so fast and that convert so well to where you can just quickly test a whole bunch of ppc campaigns
Also please answer the question I posted here:
