"Prevent" PM Spam

I know this won't get rid of pm spam, but warbucks asked a great question in irc. Why can people with 0 posts pm?

I realize that implementing a minimum post requirement to pm would result in more post spam. So maybe even a waiting period and post requirement before you can pm?

Just a thought.

I'm hating the captcha in PM. i use the quick reply pm, only to get the image error. grrrrrr

Its being worked on soon as i UNLAZY myself posters with 0-5 posts will not be able to pm.

The captcha is great but annoying for veterans who legitimately pm .. Could you remove this for users that have BST threads? Or for users of certain age/thanks/post count?

Is there any way to do this?

Please please please remove the PM Captcha... at least for me.
I get 15-50 PMs a day. It is unreasonably difficult for me to reply when I have to wait a minute in between each and now enter a captcha.

I'll freaking pay to not have to type these....

Maybe at least for JR VIP or something.

In order to do what I do here I need to reply to at least 30 PMs a day... if not more.
Can we buy forum captcha credits, lol

Wow I must be lucky.. I never got PM'ed unless I initiate it.. I've only been PM'ed by maybe 4 people? 3 of which I initiated 1 of which was the site owner Diamond Dave soo No PM spam for me...

This has been happening to me as well. I get an average of 5 PMs a day that I reply to, and the captcha is driving me nuts. Especially ReCaptcha!

I understand the need for captcha, and I also understand it is being worked on.

However, I just wanted to chime in and say it would be awesome if it was removed for replies because every time I send a PM, I would say 95% of them are simple replies.

Maybe a certain post count as well, but I am just mostly concerned about replies as this is most if not nearly all of what I do.

EDIT: Also, I do not know if anyone else is experiencing this, but when first trying to reply to a PM, the captcha is not displayed. You first have to click the submit button, and then it reloads the page saying you have to enter the captcha before sending your reply (which was previously nonexistent upon the first attempt to reply). This is turn makes the ReCaptcha image harder to solve and you must wait at least 60 seconds to actually send your PM.

Please understand, I am not complaining, and although I am sure I am not the only one this is happening to (on replies only), I just wanted it to be put out there so it can be fixed because I know things are being worked on. I love this forum, so if I have to endure it for however long, that's cool; once again, just putting it out there!

Money Man- Yea, I had this happening to me too lol. It was quite annoying! Glad to see i wasnt the only one though!

Yea, I was wondering the same thing myself; whether or not they did this for certain people or for the whole board. But, obviously it wouldn't be wise to post the answer to that publicly.
