I'll try to keep this simple: I wanted to PM someone for an invite to Pinterest. But I need 15 posts. I had posted on a invite thread, and got a PM, but to reply, I need 15 posts.

I went through, and made 15 (what I thought were) posts, only it turns out posts to the lounge don't count.

So, I'm just wanting to email a simple invite, without posting 15 different bs topics to meet the qual, and I only posted to topics with having at least a little interest; thought I'll admit, as I went on, replies were limited to 1 or 2 sentences, since a lot of my posts would need urls (for sources, which I can't post). Oh, and I also did other things (emails, talked with international penpals, read online manga), to make sure I didn't "flood the board," or some such. Now, all the time I've spent, has been lost, and all I want to do is send a simple email reply to a member...why is that so difficult? Most of my posts don't count, and if I post a lot of space filler, I run the risk of being reported as a spammer. So...what..?

I agree, it's rather frustrating. I've been on this forum for years, still can't send someone a PM. You'd think they would just throttle you to only send one or two pms an hour if you don't have posts or something.

I can see the frustration. I am very new to BHW and would like a forum for newbies to ask questions in. Is there such a forum? For example, I just saw a post where the URLs were put in BB code for "Code" - what's that all about?

Well all you guys must have some sort of skill or something valuable to share. There is no excuse why you can't contribute in some shape or form no matter what level of understanding you have of internet marketing.

I don't understand why it's a problem, these things are put in place to protect the forum and bring the best out in members because everybody is from a different walk in life and could possibly shed a different perspective or advice on a thread that has been made.

I'm not trying to be a dick and of course I was a lurker just like you guys a while back but you eventually find your pace here if you have a genuine interest in what we all do.

Follow the guidelines and everything will be fine, quit your bitchin:p

Tbh I'd say it stops alot more spam then it inconveniences members...

I understand your frustration, but you must undertand this forum receives LOTS and LOTS of unique visits daily. If new guys could pm as they want, then our PM box will be full of spam.Just make 15 posts somewhere else then the lounge,it won't take too much ;)

so you just joined, you didn't contribute enough to the forum, you are requesting stuff from members, and you want to change the forum rules.

wow we are lucky to have you on board!

Pretty sure these precautions were put in place after years of spam forced them to switch.
BHW Inbox Spam is still not too uncommon.
