Buy & Sell Websites / Domains Section!

Hello,

Since this community has grown tremendously, I would highly recommend a section (a paid one) in which we can list our sites / domains for sale since most of us have sites to sell / flip so instead of going on Flippa or elsewhere it would be more interesting flipping in-house.

Not only that the quality of the sites would be far better (since we are the pro's ) but also it will diminish the possibility to scam other members since everything will be easily traceable.

Oh and I almost forgot, I would recommend meathead1234 as the moderator of that section

What do you guys think?

I agree. There are a lot of us that have blackhat/grey hat type sites for sale and the main stream market place is not a good place to sale these type sites.

But you don't want to link your domain or website to BH-anything. Trust me, it's a thing of perception. That would be a handicap for the web property from the get go.

I used to be a hardcore domainer and later started selling fully branded and developed websites, and always found it somewhat bothersome having to post the full domain in the thread title at the main domain forums (dnforum, namepros), as did many others, because of the history trail left that could make things difficult down the road for future owners ie. potential buyers would say "hey, but you bought this domain for $XX.XX at *domain forum* a few {hours ago|days ago|years back}, why would I pay $X,XXX.XX for it now that it's {developed|in vogue|popular|in demand|profitable}?" (trust me, it happens).

Now imagine the same scenario when you throw BH into the mix...

I was thinking about this recently, how it would be pretty great. Noobs start up websites and don't know how to finish them. Other members would be happy to buy them since a lot of the grunt work would be done. The noobs would recoupe their losses on their way out of IM. It seems like a win-win. I wouldn't expect anyone would make a huge profit since there are so many sharks here (in a good way). Those looking to flip for way more than the value of the website might be better off listing on flippa or DP.

May be if we discuss how can such marketplace be safe and clean it will be clearer for staff how good this idea is?

I suggest manual approval from staff and ownership verification by text file on the domain. Not enough but will be a good thing to start with.

Very good idea. Have a $10 listing fee, to cut out complete noobs, maybe even more. Have the search engines blocked as well for the reasons talked about above.

The issue with a marketplace like this is that it would have to be unmoderated. Moderating a paid marketplace for buying/selling sites doesn't really work and can cause a lot of issues. It's not as clear cut as buying/selling a service - just because you have actually been given the site after paying, doesn't mean everything was represented correctly.

My experience with BHW members and their sites is that there are a lot of "dodgy" niches which could also lead to legal implications for the owners of BHW (especially if the marketplace was moderated) and people could end up buying sites without really knowing what they are doing.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it would work without quite a bit of planning.

my +1 to this request. As we are much familiar with bhw than any other environment on this web world. So that would be a great addition IMO.
