Is it just me or bhw really slowed down?

Is it just me or this forum really slowed down lately? Sometimes it takes me 10-15 seconds to load some pages. Someone els experienced this, or it is something on my end?

I totally agree. My guess is that they moved it to a server or a series of servers that aren't as great as they were before. I don't like that it's down a lot of the time too for upgrades.....

Same with me. Not 10-15 seconds but certainly not as fast as normal. Also the site won't load on my Blackberry.

If you don't like change then buy the site. come on the site was down every day before the upgrades started taking place. As for the speed, I still load just fine. It is not a server issue.

A week before I noticed some downtimes also. But after the upgrades the load time is ok.

The internet is really built on interconnected networks. Some countries get access to the rest of the world from some network paths and some from others. Now, the path to connect from point A to point B is usually not the shortest geographically, but the cheaper. Based on some regulations, the networks need to pay each over to allow traffic to flow through. So, some datacenters use network A, while other uses network B etc etc. Huge sums of money involved in the process, no matter that it 's all invisible to us.

All this happens transparently and has nothing to do with the actual hosting. So, it could be that some of you who are getting a slower than usual speed, are by chance on a slow network path (from you to the new datacenter), while your path to the old datacenter (where the old hosting was) was better.

i dunno lol but i'm in cali and bhw lags when i open multiple tabs, there is no response whatsoever and then in 5 seconds or so everything loads slowly

Noticed it earlier today but now it seems to be fine. Nothing has changed on my end and I'm not seeing it with any other sites. Must be BHW's server load.

The op isnt just another newbie posting the thread on random section, but took the time to post it on the right section namely "Suggestions and Feedbacks".

So, if you have a problem in people using the right section for the right purpose, you can buy the site, and delete this section from the forum or close it down for *Admin* only, so that you can keep putting more suggestions and feedbacks for your forum yourself.




The new hosting is way better than the old one. I havent seen any downtimes yet, but the thing which makes me piss is the white screen that comes between,when I jump from one page to another. Why is that coming? may be because my browser isnt caching the site? or what?

Blackhatworld moved from Volumedrive to Hostwinds. I don't see any difference in loading time, although I'm perhaps in a totally different country compared to you guys.

Some threads are loading faster, some are slower than before.
But It's fine with me. It's not like loading for an hour.

But I also have the white screen whch extremephp also mentioned.

I get that as well... Go to bhw, redirect to /randomcharacters that leads to the 404, go to it again and everything is fine. What is that all about. Haven't figured out if it's only every few hours or so or not. With all the issues BHW has been having, I've been assuming it's another one of those things and so go and do something else for a few hours. Only realized yesterday that there wasn't really a problem and that it was just a redirect going on. Good way to drive away your traffic.. LOL

I agree. For some days bhw has been going very slow (I´d say "for me", as someone noted before that it could be different depending on where you are). Fortunately, now I think it goes at its usual pace.

country is nothing do with. server is hosted in usa and the delay between usa and me is about 200 ms. but pages are getting loaded in 10 secs. how do you explain this lol.

It's better today. Last night and in days prior I had to open each thread in a new window to avoid having to spend over a minute reloading the forum.

I've always had issues with BHW as downtime was much higher than I would anticipate but recently it has been much higher.

I'm sure they will figure it out.

I've noticed if you don't login bhw it tends to load a bit faster without being logged in. but after you log in it really starts to slow down for some reason and takes about 10-15 seconds to load a page.

It was too slow before 1 or 2 weeks before..After the server changed the site was ultra fast and cool...

Get your PC checked for malwares and viruses, and remove some huge p0rn videos to make more space for better memory and speed management. Format the PC or remove the junk files, clean the registry, defrag the HDD, etc. Get a faster net-connection and you'll see the performance rise.

Also check what extra unwanted browser plugins/add-ons you're using and try removing those. I removed a few FF add-ons and my browser performance improved a lot without doing any of those other things.

P.S.:

Don't think about changing the user name now, you should've thought about it during the registration time. Build up a good character around your name and you'll do well on the forum.
