What is EMD?

I hear some people tell about EMD. But I don't understand what is it, someone can explain for me. thanks

EMD = Exact Match Domain

It is where your domain is the exact same as your keyword. For example if your keyword is persian antique rugs your domain would be persianantiquerugs.com

Wrong, there won't be dashes if it's EMD, EMD means exact without any dashes.

But wouldn't the dashes one be a "semi-emd" since it still contains the pharse that the person is trying to rank for?

Yes, actually we are the one who coin the name to EMD, so we can assume any meaning we want.Ofcouse, with dashes, it can be semi-emd.

No, actually EMD is coined because it gives an SEO boost in Google.

Domains with dashes don't give you that SEO boost you'd expect from an actual EMD thus making them non-EMD's.

EMD – Exact match domain
For quick search engine rankings EMD’S are used.You can easily rank for your keywords if you have an exact match domain(.com/.net/.org)
Eg:

yourkeyword.com/.net/.org

I see a lot of guys saying that dashes aren't as good as an absolute EMD, but do you guys have any evidence to back up that claim? If so you should definitely document everything and post it, it would be great to read a case study of this kind IMHO.

I too would like to know if any feels that the dashes "-" make a difference when trying to rank your sites.

LOL, What happened to the OP..... guess that's what happens when ya don't understand.

Anyway, I have seen E-M-D's ranking very well and any boost given to
the EMD it seems to be about the same with dashes from the few sites I've got with dashes.
I know that domains with dashes loses out on any type-in traffic. I would be
picky where dashes are used for that reason.

Example: incometimesten vs income-times-ten, the 1st option will get all type-in traffic.
So maybe a domain like incometimesten {review|results|works} or theincometimesten.

I am in two minds now, I have a certain keyword, say 'mykeyword' and the following 2 domains are available.

1) my-keyword . 0rg
2) mykeyword . 1nfo

Would would you suggest?
